Heya. I remember you guys had a seal to unlock the door to the upper area of Blackrock Spire in closed beta, so maybe one of you can answer this question:

I got an "Unadorned Seal of Ascension" from outside the entrance, just don't know exactly what to do with it now.

We've asked around, and have so vague memory of having to add 3 gems into it to complete it, and we got those gems from the bosses spread around the lower area of BRS.

But do we have to activate some quests in order to do this, and which bosses will drop the gems required?

We're playing horde. Hope someone can answer this, would be a great help. Thanks!

Deus, CSM, Destromath.

yea, the quest NPC is up on a ledge near the first bridge, go to the first bridge and look backwards for a orc infiltrator, it's a disguised quest NPC

I'm here right now, and can't seem to find him. Checked everywhere around the first bridge.

Hard to spot or something?

He is a little hard to find to find, but as you go into BRS he will be on a high ledge to your left.

Once you complete the unforged seal and go to Dustwallow to get the dragon to finish it for you, be careful. When I did it for my seal, the dragon was severely bugged, and would randomly go out of its mind control effect with an accompanying "too far away" message (even though he was right next to me). I blew 3/5 charges of the item the quest npc gives you trying to get the last part of the quest done.

I'd advise you to try to pull him out of his cave if he is giving you trouble like this when you try to finish the quest. It would be tremendously annoying to have to go back into brs to talk to the npc again because you run out of charges due to a stupid bug. Although you can get to that npc quite easily; I duoed my way there with a priest.

Best way to battle Emberstrife is to go right from the entrance of the cave and pull him across the water. Otherwise, if you fight on the pathway, you'll get all the los and extra bugs associated to it :)

Yeah, Emberstrife did get bugged actually. After I placed the seal, and used his firebreath to forge it, everyone lost line of sight to him, and he killed me :P

We got it the second time, though.

So, we got the seal, and tried it out last night. This leaves me with a new question, though:

We got all the way to Drakkisath, and cleaned his room except for him and his two minions, but unless there is some trick ot it, I can't see how you can defeat all 3 of them with a party of 5.

We all died, and we were discussing new tactics on how to defeat that encounter.

Maybe we need to use the Seal of Ascension or something?

Grats Deus. I think the General encounter is not meant for a group of 5, rather it is for a raid. I could be wrong though.

I got my seal recently, but I haven't been to Upper BRS before. Could you or anyone please tell me where the entrance to Upper BRS is? Is it somewhere inside Lower BRS? If it is, after which boss or how to reach there? Thanks a lot.

Thanks.

You have to go through BRS to get to Upper BRS. The Entrance is right inside to the left when you enter BRS, can't miss it.

I thought you had to complete Drakkisath with 5 people to get kill credit, and thus be able to complete the quest for killing him.

Also, the guy who gives you the seal tells you something like "When the hour looks the darkest, use the seal and red dragonflight will come to your aid"

Of course we thought of that after we wiped at him.. so much for timing :P

Anyway I'm glad you can reach the General with a group of 5, to me that's good news.

So it seems that I have to return to Vaelan after I got the "Forged Seal of Ascension". I thought that was the key to UBRS, but apparently I can't interact with that door with that forged seal. Does Vaelan give something else after you return with the "Forged Seal of Ascension"? And can you interact with the door without the key (I mean does it ask for a key if you don't have it?)

For some reason I still cant find the npc... I have all 3 gems and the unadorned seal. Is he in the instance or just in the BRS zone outside the instance? And by first bridge... you mean the rope bridges before the ogres, or the one you see as your first enter that goes over the 4 rooms?

If this helps, for general, you can sleep his 2 adds with a druid. You will get some resists but you can hold them asleep long enough to kill the general.

It's nice to know the other mini-bosses are doable with 5.

Bit is it possible to do General with a group of 5?

My friends and I have four 60s (mage, war, prst, rogue) and we usually pickup a 5th to do instances. We're one key part away from unlocking UBRS, and we're hoping to eventually do the Raid trinket quest. If it is possible to 5 man General what kind of group setup is needed?

I would suggest a group of 8 if you enjoy the challenge. In a group of 5, General will not be easy and I hate to say impossible because, I'm sure someone, someday will prove me wrong.

You might want to start out with an experienced group in UBRS so you can take notes of what is needed come the battle.

General's battle will not be the only tough battle for a group of 5, the guards in the throne room make this a very difficult battle for a small group. Assassins alone can wipe an entire group of it's healers in mere seconds.

Once this is clear, you will need to battle General. He comes equipped with 2 MS'ing Guards. Unfortunately, when Blizzard nerfed Warrior's MS they overlooked the guards who MS for 3.5k (ouch)

UBRS is easy when you have real tanks :)
