whats ur problem ?
Items have to get better aq stuff is almost all bs and barely better then bwl stuff

My problem is the equippment gap between different Level 60 Epics.

I mean, you should be able to get different epics and they should get "slightly better" or have different stats so you can focus on different things. My problem is, I feel the equippment gap between MC and AQ epics to be to large, let alone Naxxramas Epics now.

Basically I haven't realize that you can get to level 70 with the expansion and that items should really get THAT much better.

Have you guys seen the SS of the level 62 rogue in full tier3 with only 4700 hp? It's like for every 40AP/1%crit/50spell damage they only add 2 or 3 stam and a spattering of resists here and there.

If they're going to make the game unplayable for non-raiders, they may as well make the gear so everyone isn't just one shotting each other.

People are overreacting to the gear. This is gear on a tier 3 level plus it is going to carry you into expansion which is up to level 70. Think about grinding 60-70, people are going to do it. You are going to need gear to take you to ten new levels of content.

The staff is pretty good, not going to lie, but any guild that gives it to any class but mage is going to regret it. It is good all around for their classes, but it will get good permanent use from mage and maybe druid.

To me the problem is that Blizzard continues to scale the gear without thinking about pvp. Sure, whatever people in uber epics beat people with bad old epics. But they could at least make it so damage doesn't increase so much compared to hp.

yes but what about the months between 1.11 and expansion. Where ppl are only lvl 60, and the warrior who got that mace runs around twohitting _anything_ ?

Yes you must bridge the gap from 60-70, but not that far ahead of the expansion >.<

I reckon 1.11 comes in a monthish, then add another monthish until blizz makes khelthuzad killable, then its gonna start popping up (atleast on a high comp server as mine) and your gonna have 4-5 months (remember 1.12 is before xpansion aswell) after that before the xpansion is here. (my guess is 7monthsish from 1.11 -> expansion)

without thinking about pvp.
You're playing this game for all the wrong reasons. If you're still playing this game for PVP then just read this now and give up hope.

There are plenty of concepts on how to scale pve without ruining pvp, EQ2 did it fine. They made it so items and spells do different things in pve and pvp, so you could have a weapon scale a ton to keep par with pve but not scale so high for pvp.

Will Blizzard ever do it? Nope.

Doesn't mean Kel'Thuzad will be dead before expansion. Infact, I very much doubt anyone will have that mace or the legendary staff before expansion. Assuming they do things right. (lol)

not that i dont have faith in blizz, but i honestly belive they are gonna continue their cheapo-lamo-fagtastic conspiracy to lengthen the life of encounters. They have since retail, why stop now?
You saw how fast the fuckers have died after every "disable godmode" hotfix by blizz

And yes, i think thuzad will die(again hah) before expansion. I agree that mace is about the powerlvl i expect from the expansion.

I'm still playing WoW because of the people I play with/against, not because of PvE or PvP. However, I try to remain hopeful that Blizzard will start actually caring about PvP like they claim they do.

I honestly think Blizzard scales the way they do and at the rate they do to force people to go from MC -> BWL -> AQ -> Naxx -> whatever. If they don't make it so the gear is a big enough improvement on each step, then people will start to skip right to the best gear.

There is a huge market for PvP.
Recently i read article about MMOs and how successful they were.
Everquest had 500k subscribers while Lineage had 3 millions. We all know that EQ was about leet loot while Lineage was about sieges.

My point is: your statement is right if you take into consideration only American market. Americans are all about killing monsters, having a leet loot and looks. Asians on other hand are more into gore and PvP combat. Maybe that’s why we have so many pve mmos for American market and so many pvp mmos for Asian.

Good question is: Why WoW(a pve mmo) was so successful (5 millions subscribers) worldwide? Anyone dare to answer?

RubiksCube
05-16-2006, 03:22 AM
my guess is, because it was the first mmo to actually "step out of the niche".

Most MMO's were exclusively played by people like many of us are, hardcore gamers. Willing to spend a huge amount of time on leveling and then on gearing and pvp'ing.

At least 80% of the overall playerbase of WoW are casual gamers. That's 4 million subscribers playing this game simply because it's made by Blizz, because the leveling is fast, because the game is easy to handle (which you couldn't say about most other MMO's).

And that's 1 million subscribers that are "hardcore". Many thought PvP in WoW will be good, so they joined the game. Many didn't or left back to old games like DAoC after that, but even some of the PvP oriented people stayed, because they felt WoW PvE was getting enjoyable (compare Molten Core encounters to BWL to ZG to AQ and you'll get the point of me talking about improvement of PvE).

With that being said, you have the small hardcore base (of EQ in you example) with some of the huge PvP Base turned PvE by the game that are like 20% of the playerbase. And you have the casuals. That's were you get your 5 million.

Come to think of it, here's another question: With WoW PvE improving so much in terms of fun and challenging encounters, and the WoW developers stating they'll focus on getting Outdoor PvP and General PvP more interesting, does that raise hopes for WoW PvP?

Also, PvP in WoW may mean nothing, but can anyone say it's not "fun" to play?

Nope, cross server BGs will be strong for about a month, then interest will fall because they're poorly designed, and it'll go back to the way it is now.

I don't have fun getting afk'd out against after waiting an hour to get in.

Getting "afk'ed out against" is not playing it.

cuz it's blizzard, and the media thinks everthing made by blizzard is gold, so WoW got huge amounts of free publicity
