View Full Version : Enchanting and swords
Sorry for being so newb. I'm one of those "lucky" people who have been drooling and hoping to get into beta for that last couple of months. Anyway, I wanted to know about colored swords. I am especially fond of the ones emmitting a blue light. Is that from enchanting or an alchemy potion? If it is from enchanting which one is it? I was looking through the enchanting and it seems like most of it increases stats and such. Anyway I would appreciate any info you can hook me up with.
Come to think of it, good question

I like being a Shaman because we get little shiny balls floating around us and our weapons all the time

The lower level enchanting spells do give a weapon the blue misty aura. I think that higher level enchanting may give it red, but not sure on that one.

Straight +damage enchants (1-5 for 1h, 2-7 for 2h) are blue. The lower enchants are quite misty while the higher enchants are quite bright.
The red glow is beast slaying, 4 damage 1h or 2h to beast mobs only.
The fiery weapon (+8 fire damage, 1h or 2h) and the demonslay enchant (stun and damage proc against demons only) are the dripping fire animation.
Little swirlies, be they fire frost or stone, are the shaman self buffs.
Dripping green animation is the rogue poisons (temporary buffs).
Lastly, a number of individual weapons have their own particle effects, enchanted or no. The only one I can recall the name of is the Argeant Avenger sword which has the blue aura, but no blade. It's a pretend lightsabre I think.

stay's on forever, but only 1 enchantment at a time. yes, you can re-enchant to switch to something better.
