21. Re: tyren... Improved rage generation?? | 12/18/2004 3:35:30 PM CST
Warriors, here is what I can tell you so far.
1. Warrior tanking ability is suppose to have an element of chaos. Thus it is not likely that Taunt will become a great deal more effective than it is now.
2. We've repeatedly tested the miss rate, as I'm sure many beta testers can atest to. It's not a bug. For all the string of misses, you also get strings of hits. It's within the parameters that are set.
3. Rage generation was improved this patch to address the less effective tank ability. In this way, we hope that warriors will be able to do more special attacks per fight and thus create more threa. Again, tanking won't be as players think it should, but it is something.

I tried a dual-weild zerker.. and it just flat doesn't work with all of the misses. Warriors got the shaft.. big time.

Well, here's another wonderful tidbit that was considered a bug but apparently isn't:
1. Tyren please comment on sta/int no gain bug | 12/18/2004 12:42:58 PM CST
Stamina and Intelligence points gained per level do not add anything to your HP(sta)/Mana(int)
any word of fix ?

This is not a bug but how the system was designed.

I am not exactly sure how this is going to play out, but when mages, priests, druids (lol) and warlocks among others are all calling for the re-enstatement of warriors to thier supposed role of tank rather than tin can with heal sponge attached, I can't see too many warriors holding out. There will be some hard nuts out there, but in all honesty whats the point of paying for a game, such that every time you log your 60 warr on, all you want to do is bash your skull into the monitor repeatedly...

As I never played warrior in beta, I do not understand completely what it is I am missing.
I am currently a level 35 warrior. I can beat most classes of the same level, though admitadely its very hard for me to tank succesfully, as others know I lose agro way to easily.
I use charge, and the beserk charge, and try to hamstring and still my enemies can outrun me, ie rogues.
I also disarmed a rogue last night and he had his weapon in his hands in like 3 seconds as opposed to 10.
I do feel that rogues can do everything a warrior can, only better, and have a speed burst while running..
/sigh I will keep playing and hope they get some love eventually. I guess its good to have a crapp cast and have it get beefed, than be on the end of the nurf stick.

Haha that's the exact feeling I have right now as mage. Blink and arcane missles are broken, we got huge freakin downtime, and our dps in instances is sub-par at best... it can't get much worse than this. Just when I thought we couldn't ever be nerfed again (mages have been "balanced" the past 10+ patches) they go in and change all CC in the game making our poly barely useful for pvp. I was going to roll a warrior... you guys really don't have it all that bad with 20% chance to crit and deep wounds. You crit a mage and he's probably going to bleed to death, lol.

More goodies for all the young Warrior tots!
6. Re: Caydiem: Any plans for a Free Respec? | 12/20/2004 5:57:30 PM CST
There are no plans for this, as the changes are relatively minor.

I would honestly hate to know what "major" changes are by her standards.

Well, I guess I don't really know how all the classes play out, but an equal level mage totally kills me in duels, and I have a hard time beating them in pvp environment.
Of course this isn't organized or group pvp, mainly random encounters. I do ok, if I can get the charge in first, and get a bleed and crit before I get sheeped.

Last patch, i figured that it can't get any worse for warriors...
it seems that theory is out the window.

I just wish they would add the same element of chaos for Paladin's tanking ability. ;)

I know I once heard something about not killing the messenger... anyway, bad replies from Blizzard as a whole, it's a tad surprising to see they don't understand the issues at hand. Comparing the warrior to the paladin, there's not a single advantage for the warriors, and that's just wrong. I won't be one to cry for a paladin nerf, they're not as overpowered as alot of people like to claim, but warriors do need to beat them in at least one perspective - combat skills. The DPS of a warrior should be amoung the top of the classes.
Goood luck for those of you still sticking to your warrs tho.

And the fun continues:
1. Intercept Fix | 12/23/2004 3:17:21 PM CST
We wanted to let you all know that we are applying a server side hot fix to correct the rage cost of the Intercept spell. Intercept will now cost 10 rage points instead of 15, as was announced in the patch notes. However, players will still need to have at least 15 rage points to cast the spell.
The hot fix will be applied later today. No server downtime is required.

I usually try not to use the following words out of respect but that is absurdly retarded. I mean seriously, WTH.
Some of the choices blizzard makes just make me scratch my head in amazement, you gotta wonder what their decision making process is like to end up with some of these things.
Pretty big changes to the tree to me and a respec was definitely needed. Yet instead they say it wasn't major and have everyone fork out the cash :/

I just wanna say thanks to Sintor for all blizz quotes. Hard to keep up w/ forums. Thank you.
That's the dumbest shit i've ever heard.
That is the single best post I have ever seen, and I am not being sarcastic.
I wish Blizzard would stop screwing with warriors, and other classes, and instead fix all the bugs with the skills/spells that are currently implemented. It would be interesting to see true class power when all our skills/spells worked properly.
