Argh, I've been having doubts lately.. I have a rogue, and I've been thinking about going warrior. With my rogue, I know I can do damage but, so far, I'm questioning my survivability. I've looked at warrior and played one to low level and I have the feeling that though my damage doesn't match a rogue's DPS output, the survivability and general consistency seem like pretty good points.

I just want a character I feel very comfortable with (my only desire is to play only one char, I like to devote all my time to one), and rogue's survivability is making me uncomfortable, but sometimes I think that with warrior I might just feel like a damage soaker that isn't quite capable of doing a big difference in the battlefield, except for popping hamstrings and shouts.

To people who have played CB, do rogues really lack the survivability, and do warriors have enough variety and usefulness to bust out of the "damage soaker" stereotype? I am aware that every character has it's role, but all I'm doing now is trying to get a clearer image in my head about the finer aspects of both classes.

And by the way, I don't care about the current problems balance-wise; I'm looking at this decision as a long-term one, and I'm pretty sure game balance will even out in the future.

I've played about 3 or 4 high level Rogues now and tried other classes to gain a different aspect on them, but I always end up switching back to my Rogue because I miss the utility. I can't really speak on what playing a Warrior is like because I've only played one to about 19.

A lot of people think that since Rogues don't have decent AC or a decent amount of hit points that we tend to go down easy. That may be true for inexperienced Rogues in PvP or a group that uses a Rogue to tank in PvE (most groups will only make that mistake once). We have many skills and talents that make us one of the best classes for survivability. Sometimes even moreso than a Warrior in PvP situations.

You would really have to level a Rogue and experience it on your own. All I can do is tell you that the class is extremely addictive and requires a fair amount of skill to master. The possibilities for both PvE and PvP are limitless.

When I look at Warriors I see a one-dimensional class that is also one of the most important classes in the game. I've felt like this ever since playing alongside one in EQ. They are intended to be the damage sponge and it's likely to stay that way in future MMORPGs. Blizzard has done a great job at making the class a little more versatile, but I still find them to be boring to play. That's just me though. You have to try it out and see which one you like the most.

I know it's almost become cliche at this point but I will rehash it anyway...figure out what your playstyle is and go with it.

Yeah, tried warrior yet again and it seems I'm going back to my rogue.. even though I see potential in being a warrior I just can't quite fall in love with it, unlike my rogue where I was mesmerized into playing it. I'll have to see for myself about the survivability, though.

I 'm kind of doubtful about leather's damage taking compared to mail/plate, though. I'm kind of scared that in group pvp I'll just be able to stealth, kill one player, then get a DOT slapped on and get killed easy due to leather and not being able to stealth, while a warrior would be able to last through that and slam (with new changes) for good damage as well as have awesome passives (flurry, enrage).

Just played some more and decided on definitely sticking with rogue. Vanish, sprint, evasion, rupture... every skill has a huge use to me. Definitely going to stick with rogue.
