Hey guys. My friend told me to come here to ask what ingame video recording programs yall use. I have Fraps but it will not record video... just the sound and screenshots. Is there any others? that are free?

Thanks
Carimm

fraps is the most common program and does record video, yours may be a pirated version with things taken out (not sure why they would remove video...) or maybe you just dont have the hotkey setup for taking video.

Fraps is absolutely the best one, but not necessarily the latest version of it. Other than fraps there's gamecam (.com) which is OK, but nowhere near fraps in quality.

http://www.planetgamecam.com/

Both have their advantages and disadvantages;
Fraps creates uncompressed avi files (they are rather large a few gigs for decent quality). You get better quality but need to compress the files yourself, some people aren't comfortable with how to do this. You can create better videos when editing because it's uncompressed video.

Gamecam creates and compresses videos to either avi or wmv. It's quality can be a little lower depending on your setup, but so can a fraps video after compression. Gamecam has A LOT more features like cached video recording which is something i wish fraps had. When you edit and create a video you are basically compressing twice which can lead to lower quality videos.

Best thing to do is try them both and see what you like.
