"Okay, you've read the headline so let's get straight to the point - Blizzard has a couple competitions taking place on the Public Test Realms to give players a chance at earning a spot in the World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade beta. They're all skill based, so it's not some random lottery system. The people who win these spots will earn it. How, you ask? Well, read the details.
The first competition is called "Race to Level 50 Contest - Quality Over Quantity." Blizzard wants to see just how fast players in each region can make it to 50. Up to 1,000 players from each region can secure themselves a spot, but be warned - if there are more than 1,000, those who reach level 50 the fastest will bypass everyone else to earn themselves a spot.
The second competition is called "Battle for Warsong Gulch." The level is capped at 19 on the Honor Contest Realm, so no one is going to be saying "LF39M for MC" - it's all about Warsong Gulch. 500 players from each region, split evenly between Horde and Alliance, with the highest honor at the closing bell will find themselves in the beta.
The final contest, and maybe one that might be a tad more appealing to some players, is the "Most Level 25 Characters Contest - Quantity Over Quality." That's right, all of you suffering from Altitis finally have a chance to shine. While you can only have 10 characters at a time on the server, the rules just say to delete one and continue on - how's that for encouragement. Again, the 1,000 players from each region with the most level 25 characters on their account successfully snag the brass ring, and will be joining the other players in The Burning Crusade Beta.
The competition starts on March 7 and ends on March 27, so be sure to check those sick days now and make the proper arrangements, because we're finally going to see a true war take place in this game. "
