Video editing questions

Excellent videos, btw.

I did read the sticky about the videos, and I do have Vegas 5 and Fraps. However, I'm wondering how you get the file sizes so small?

For example, one of your videos was 25MB but had 3 minutes worth of video in it, whereas I get an output size of about 1 MB per second if I have Vegas encode my Fraps output using DivX 5.1.1.

DivX ? not sureIm pretty sure the media player doesnt have anything to do with it cause ive watched the Videos in Windows Media Player and found it was the same size so thats not it.....I was also curious about this myself...i think the person to ask is Tivoli.

Tivoli also uses VirtualDub, so (obviously) I have it as well, but im getting an error every time i use it. He just goes to tools>compress in virtual dub, im pretty sure. However, I'm having quite a bit of trouble with my error, if anyone could help itd be greatly apprreciated. It can be found at www.geocities.com/cslogos2000 , its the 2nd one down. Thanks,

Looks to me like you are missing your missing the codec for the type of video you are trying to edit.

The DSVD codec is a VFW-based compressor that firewire- and DV-based capture cards use. Virtual Dub is open source it doesn't ship with codecs and relies on your local libraries for codecs. I believe the newest version of VD can handle DV without a codec installed. Also you could use another means of capturing like Fraps.
