combat rogue weapons

what would be a good weapon for a combat rogue swords or maces?

They're pretty much equal from my understanding unless you pick up one of the weapon specs.

In that case mace spec totally owns sword spec, with the downside being that uber maces are much much harder to come by than uber swords.

The most important stat on the weapon is the maximum damage (not the DPS), because the majority of your damage is going to come from Sinister Strikes, and they are instant and based on the weapon damage range.

So I alternate between swords and maces just using whatever has the best maximum damage that I can get my hands on at any point. Look for the slowest weapons to find this.

If you want to know where to go to hunt/quest for weapons, look on www.thottbot.com and do a search of swords and maces either Mainhand or One-hand and look for ones with a speed of 2.5 or greater.

The only exception to that speed rule so far for me was at low levels, and then right after Wailing Caverns I used a Wingblade for a while because I didn't get a Stinging Viper while I was in there.
