Levelling a new hunter

Just to switch things up a little I am making a hunter to fool around/farm with.

Whats a good talent build for him to level fast? What kind of pets do I for? Which pets are better than others?

I know to max out agi and thats about it.

I used 31/20 (BM/MM) 1-55

I respecced at 55 cause it was so fucking boring, but my pet never lost aggro tho

With the addition of Screech I think you can just spec the normal 5/31/15 or 0/31/20.

Get a cat imo, and get beastmastery to level up.
After 31 bm go MM 20. Once you hit 60, respecc to 0/31/20
to farm with i'd make a rogue tho

So how are end-game hunters turning out? I've looked at the gear a bit and I can't say it's not impressive. Resists, huge RAP/crit, massive HP..

it's true that hunters are great farmers, but rogues can farm a bit better.

Are you joking? A well played hunter is probably one of the best additions to any smart 5 man group.

A well played anything helps in a 5v5 I guess.

Nah not a warlock, warlocks are utility. A warrior? Yes. A mage? ABSOLUTELY. If you get an -extremely- geared hunter in a 5 man with entrapment, its probably the best thing EVAR, especially in an alliance 5 man. The amount of damage a Ashrewhateverthefuck crossbow hunter can put out is insane + he can live long with deterrence and mail + he has one of the best anti-melee utilities in the game: entrapment with a frost trap. Hunters are amazing.

Hmm.. now I'm tempted. I was looking at wowequip and goddamn. A hunter with survivalist can have like 5400hp and resists..

The thing is I've only played Horde so I'm used to warriors + WF being pretty much irreplaceable for pvp.

WF warriors are only good if you allow them to be. A smart alliance group will shut them down.

Heh, now I'm soo tempted. Hunters are tons of fun in PVE IME.. maybe it's the lack of responsibility ;)

I find warrior to be kinda boring in PVE. Tanking sucks ;_;

I was doing AB once and ended up with Scorpid Sting, Vindication and demo shout on me.. that's one way to shut down a warrior ;)
