SandDemon

Ok, I'm moving my computer out of the room with my Netgear router...and discovering I'm having some wireless issues.
Important facts:
Wireless is on, SSID of SandDemon
Authentication is Automatic
Security is Disabled (ya I know, read on)
Access control is on (only my mac addy is allowed)
My wireless is the DMZ Server (meaning nothing is blocked at all to my computer)
I have the newest wireless card driver and using their software to connect (might try using Windows)
Signal Strength: Excellent
On details, it oddly seems like I'm sending a LOT more packets than receiving.
At the moment, my Netgear Router and computer are in the same room, both on the floor.
Loading google can take a few minutes, if it works at all. I need to get this stuff fixed. Any ideas guys? Homegrown tips for increasing wireless speed? For setting this all up, I just installed the card and newest driver, let their software autodetect my router...and went into my router settings and setup the wireless access point, ssid, etc.
Help?
