Hey! I must say your videos are awsome and I have been looking into using Fraps for my guild. But I have problems. My WoW client will Critical Error the moment I hit record. Is there any way to fix that? I've done test movies in CS and I drop from 100 fps to 5 and my videos come out with bad frame rate. What settings do you use in Fraps to get such smooth video? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Video recording takes a pretty decent PC to begin with, but some things you can do to make it smoother is lower your recorded framerate from 30 down to 25 or 20 frames. you can also record at half-size to help if it's still bad.

As far as a critical error, make sure you have the latest updates for your PC and the latest drivers.

What kinda system setup are ya running? I would also suggest shutting down all appliactions running in the background that you can. Make sure you have plenty of space on your harddrive and do a defrag. Run a virus and spyware check. Do a 'msconfig' at the command line and disable all non-important values in the 'Startup' tab. Check for updated drivers, especially graphics and sound. If all else fails, post on the B.net forums using as many grammatical and spelling errors as possible, and speak only in 1337, as it seems to help ease stress.

As I currently don't do any video recording and never messed with Fraps, I can only help from the hardware standpoint. Good luck with your video.

I have this error when i record a higher fps than my WoW runs in.

So if i record at 30 and it can only run in 10 it will crash.
Fix? Get a better comp! :P
