So what would you suggest for maximum dmg in pvp?
A Polearm?
Or a 2H Sword?
Thanks in advance

Whichever 2h you can find with the sloest speed. If you are determined to do one of those two then use a polearm. Honestly though the best weapons in the game are pretty consistantly 2h Axes

Why the sloest speed? Is this because the slower the weapon normaly the more the max damage? or is there some other reason to use a slow weapon?

cause most good abilitys in the talent trees work with % weapon damage done.
ms with a dagger is a waste of 30 rage.
personally i try the sword spec route.
i goddam hate the 7-8 sec pause if u miss one swing with a big axe.
all of the dps in the 2h route are equal, axe, mace, sword, polearm, all the same.
the difference is in the time per swing and in the damage per hit.
i personally prefer to hit twice with a weapon for half the damage than one time with full damage.
these misses suck.
sry for my english, germany here^^

Statistically, although there are many swords in the game, I believe I read somewhere that swords actually have the lowest damage of all the weapon types (probably with an exception to staves and daggers which are in a different class of their own)

thats not right.
all 2h weapons have nearly the same dps, the difference is speed and the resulting damage per swing, which is the reason ms-builds prefer very slow hitting weapons.

MS is based off of weapon damage purely, and generally slower hitting weapons have the highest min/max damage.
I dont like missing with a 2h weapon either, but I am trying a dual weild axe character now and I think they tried to balance out the missing with faster weapons, ill explain.
First with a slow weapon every miss is a big deal correct?
so missing can hurt pretty bad.
With a 1h weapon or dual weilding it isnt as big a deal to miss with the weapons, but what i have noticed is if you add the percents that u miss with dual wielding axes (my character only experience) compared to 2h axes is that you miss a hell of alot more with the dual wields. there are times i attack with the duals and miss like the first 5-8 attacks and i get pissed with this, but with 2h axes you will never miss that much unless they are uber lvls higher. So IMO I would go with the 2h axe only because i hate missing and it happens alot with 1h and duals. (I am new to this game all that i have stated is from my own experience with max proficiency on both types, and if you have any light to shed on this feel free to explain or correct me)

all i have to say.... hurray for sword / sheild in PvP... honestly, once i hit 40-50 i think i can beat any MS warrior in a 1v1... the protection tree is completely awesome.... and with dipping into the other trees for key abilities such as improved parry... i think a 1h / sheild build rocks pvp... plus you slam casters with sheild bash :D

Or you could just build a arms character with MS and then macro shield bash.....

2h sword, sword spec: 2x crit, crit-dodge-overpower (crit), hit-hit, 2x rage, ms-hit-hs.
Im still trying out sword spec war so far im lovin it, thinlking of sticking with it for ever.
overall think its better then any +crit% and stuns.
Also 2h spec is not worth any pts what so ever, 20-30 dmg ugh no thx, id prefer put 1 in all 4 weapon spec to generalise.

Has anyone actually parsed the DPS of 2hs Swords/Axes/Maces Vs. Polearms or Duel Wield. Alot of people have strong opinions about which is better but there is no data to support it. I would like to see someone post parses for 2h swords/axes/maces with same weapon dps against a chain class, a leather class and a cloth class. Also do the same for polearms and duel wield. I think the advantage for polearms was not that it did massive damage but that its both a slashing and a piercing weapon. It has versatility. e.g. Piercing may do more damage to a plate class then slashing and so forth....
