In Game Addon Usage

Can you go over the ingame addon usage a lil further. The docs seemed somewhat vague to me.

I get that when someone messages with "!bid" it adds their name to the list - but at what point/how do you say 'this person won, give them the loot, and subtract the points from their current dkp' .

Or does the mod just watch for the 'BLANK recieves [hooker boots of stamina]'

and automagically subtract that from them? I've tried clicking every which way, and the /command says <itemid>, does that mean the item loot link?

sorry to be acting stranded or confused, just need a lil help to understand how to hand actually distributing the loot/deducting points.

And 1 thing more: are the addon and web-system connected or they're just separated?
I tried to look through the forum, It'd be good if some1 explained how to use it all together.

right now the addon looks enabled only for importing your website data in game so you dont have to "alt-tab"

members can view their points in game !dkp and bidding is simplified with !bid

after that the addon is not finished though and you are on your own, record drops and attendance by hand (or use another addon ctraid tracker?) and add it to the website manually

I've read that an export feature is in the works, this would add more automation to the process of tracking your raid and updating the website

Herm, the docs made it sound like people would have the cost of the item deducted from their points during the middle of the raid when loot was distributed (points added at the end) - is this not true?

* How do i update my AddOn?
In the Nurfed_DKP AddOn you will see an exe file called ndkp, do not move it from this folder, if you want you can create a shortcut to it, or point your current WoW shortcut to this exe file. After running the exe you will see two fields, the first is the location of your updateaddon.php file, which will be http://www.yoursite.com/ndkp/updateaddon.php, the second entry is your WoW.exe file, after you get the download complete message you can click Launch WoW and World of Warcraft will start up. What this does exactly is pull all your DKP information into a file called Nurfed_DKPPlayers.lua.

* How can I view my DKP in game?
If you are using the AddOn you can type /ndkp in game and a window will pop up with two fields to type in, the first is name, you cannot type partial names, you can leave it blank or put in an * to view all players. The second field is for class, you can type a partial name such as pri and it will show all priests. If you do not have the AddOn, but your raid leader or someone in your raid has the AddOn you can send them a tell with !dkp and they will whisper back to you your current DKP.

* What is the easiest way to keep track of who wants loot?
Clear your list by right clicking on the tab and then select Clear List, after that the raid/loot leader can then post which peice of loot is up on the block, then everyone that wants the item can send the raid/loot leader a tell with !bid this will populate that users AddOn with their name, once everyone has had a chance to send a tell you can easily see who is at the top of the list. If an item is a downgrade your raid members can send a tell with !down and their rank will have a (-#-) displayed, letting you know that it will be a downgrade for that person.

But what isn't in the docs is:

How do you say PersonX won, subtract the DKP cost from his current total. So the next time they try to bid on an item, they aren't using the amount of points they started with. IE: I have 30 points, win [HookerBoots of Stamina] for 12 points, so now my current poitns should be 18 (30-12). Next when [PimpHat] drops, i should lose it to someone else with more than 18 points.
What is meant by '/ndkp <itemid>' does itemid = [thelootlink], some other unique id? What does this command do exactly.

yeah I think those features are being worked on and expanded into the upload script for the website, but I am pretty sure they're disabled right now

Right now you can't deduct points in game, this is something i am putting in with the web upload feature for adding attendance, raids, purchases for that day.

Right now the 3 /whisper commands are !bid, !down, !dkp.

We have one of our raid leaders send a tell to the raid like this;

SEND TELLS ON [Boots of Craziness]
SEND TELLS ON [Boots of Craziness]
SEND TELLS ON [Boots of Craziness]

Then after a minute or so we send another raid announce like this;

LAST CALL ON [Boots of Craziness]
LAST CALL ON [Boots of Craziness]
LAST CALL ON [Boots of Craziness]

Then after another minute, whoever is at the top of the list in DKP gets the item.

The /ndkp <itemid> is like lootlink, like '/ndkp 17104' will display the tooltip for the Spinal Reaper, if nothing pops up, then either the item hasn't been seen on your server, or the itemid does not exist.

In the near future there will be a more advanced in game GUI for the sytem.
