Moving to NDKP - Pre-existing loot

My guild is considering moving to NDKP as our loot system from a non-DKP system. Once raised concern is that pre-existing loot would not be in the system for the purposes of upgrades/downgrades. What would be the easiest way to enter in items for players?

Boss=Bank
Dungeon = Bank

then loot the items to the players
