Cause their Lazy? =)
Or Bad Shamans.
Try kicking them out of the raid for poor performace a few times, maybe they will get the hint.
I'm a shaman as well and I try to do as little as possible in raids.

Lies!!!!
There are plenty for us to do. We have Aim Shot and Stings!
I always try and apply Stings all the targets when possible.

I would reach through their monitor and slap them but luckily I do not have lazy shamans to deal with.

Same as anywhere else...some folks are lazy. I agree w/ In-QQQQ...kick them from the raid. One public embarassment should be enough.
Shamans are slacking a lot of the time.....
I usually setup priest groups during the double firewhatever pulls in the tunnel @ shazz and geddon.
And just say, shammy's keep the locks alive. Locks die and I can flame them again :p.
Seriously, make a topic on guildwebsite. And kick them from raids if they perform bad as another poster stated.

The Paladin class is more famous for being played poorly, and to some extent that's justified. But to be honest, both Paladins and Shamans suffer from a malady common to Hybrid classes in MMOs: the bad players ignore all defensive abilities and focus purely on their offense, because that's what they enjoy. Most players want to be the uber killer of doom.
This means that you see Paladins thwacking away with their dinky hammers as their friends die around them; similarly, I can't remember how often I've seen Shamans Frost Shock all their mana away to the detriment of their team. This playstyle is particularly egregious for the Paladin, because they are particularly defensive, but Shamans obviously have significant defensive utility that frequently gets little playtime.
If a Shaman dropped 2 or 3 totems a fight, purged, and healed, and did NOTHING else, I'd consider that player a fairly good Shaman. The optimal play for the class includes a good deal more variety than that, of course, but those spells are the bare bones of an effective Shaman playstyle.
