I realize you are invite only, but hear me out. I am an east server player, ive had various characters on different factions and different classes (different servers). I am experianced at leading raids, or just following other raid leaders orders. I have played a long time now and i personally think im very good and smart when it comes down to raids, and quests and ect.. ide like to be in Nurfed, but my only problems are 1) its invite only and you dont know me, and 2) im an east player and wont be playing on your server unless some how you can trust me and let me in after what i just said, i wont be letting you down, thanks.

It's my calling ... don't take it personally.

There are about 1000 players who don't suck, people who have some fame in WoW even, that would like to join Nurfed or talk in their ventrilo ... why would they have any interest in you? You can't understand the requirements to join, you haven't said anything to make anyone think you have the slightest clue what you're doing ... they simply don't take people stumbling in off the streets. Good luck on your application here though.

As for being in a guild, I think its important first to have fun and group with people that you like. If you don't like some of the people, or don't group with them, there's no sense in being in a guild without connection.

Even if you don't get in nurfed there are alot of other guilds and people to group with. Bottom line is that we are all Horde, and it will be fun to kill the alliance.

You'll eventuall meet new playas levelin up and you may decide to join or even create a guild in 60 levels. Or you might decide to quit the game entirely.

Not being a nurfed member is not the end of the world .
However joining DIE is, who would want to be in that zerg bandwagon?

I didn't see any comments from trend on his grammatical or spelling prowess. As I understood it Trend was saying, in a rather assinine(sp) way that I can appreciate because I am a sick bastard, that the guy had not actually written anything in the post to warrant entry into a guild.

I mean he has experience leading raids. Well sadly I do as well, it was a pleasant 1- person raid, and we got everything done we wanted to. I have also been in raids with poor communication, but nothing in his post stated the quality of the raids, nor the quantity. He has not stated any long term exposure to PvP, be it solo or group, and that is mostly what Nurfed seems to be renowned for.

Exactly what part of his post made him stand out of the crowd? While I personally have no major interested in joining nurfed at this point and time I would say that was a weak pitch at best. While I have no real desire to paint the picture this way... uhg look at it like this.

Ever see the movie 'The Skulls' ? That is an elite group, you have to be INVITED, you can not ask to join, you prove your worth on your own (or in their case are born into it). When you are in, you are IN, as long as you don't screw up. But I mean the average guy with big dreams isn't going to get into the Skulls. It is going to be the guy with not only the vision but the skills and desire. The only thing the guy is really lacking is a support group of similar people, so they send him an invite.

That is basically how I see Nurfed. It is not a training ground for you to learn PvP or Raid or anything else. They don't want to be teachers for everyone. They want people who play like they do, with skill, attention to detail, and a desire to be the best. That is probably a major reason why it is invite only, and I am sure there are some rather strict PR rules you have to stick to or you get booted. They want level headed players, not people with a shotgun attitude.

Dude, good luck with your attempt to join. In the future you may wish to put some more effort into it, or do some background research before you apply.

What I was saying is that if he is going to try and gain entry to an invite only guild, using a forum post as his only form of credibility, he should put more effort into the sales pitch (selling himself to the guild), and/or more effort into looking into what it takes to get into the guild.

What part of his post made you think he was nurfed material? So far your only defense for this poor gentleman was that his true skills could only be seen in game. That does not lead me to believe that he has made a decent pitch in the forum.

I am an investor. If a buisnessman wanted some of my time and sent me a letter of similar merit to what was posted, I would deny him. There is no way I would even give him the opportunity for an interview. He wrote nothing about the aspects that I am interested in (pvp for this scenario). He wrote only vauge information about his experience (led a raid, was in a raid, good at completing easy blizzard quests). Where exactly in his post does it say I should invest in this man? Putting money aside (entry into the guild), why should I give him the time to try and get me to invest?

Seriously, and I am not trying to be an ass, that was a very weak pitch. Just put more effort into it if you really want it. I do not see how this is such an issue. If you really want something you should be willing to put in the effort to achive it. Show me that effort, and I would give you the interview.

PS: I am not a member of Nurfed in any way shape or form, nor am I able to give 'interviews' to join their guild. I was speaking through an analogy.

I take offense to that! He's a guild mate of mine. If you want to take something up with him and his 'half assed clan' I will most certainly get one of our A teams together against yours. Not an insult challenge, just a general open arena challenge. :)

More often than not you only have 1 chance to make a first impression. If this guild was something you really wanted I somehow doubt you would just 'get lazy' because it is the internet. At no point and time have I ever said you were not smart. I have no way to make that judgement. What I did say was that your petition was very weak. If you want someone 'high up' to PM YOU then make yourself stand out, don't just be another fanboy saying they have teh skillz to join. If they PMed everyone who claimed that they would never have time to play the game, it would be nonstop 'interviews' in game.

As a final note I am not saying that it is impossible for you to get their attention on these boards, I am saying you need to put more effort into your request for attention/acceptance.

Dude, just make a name for yourself on the east coast servers, get a good team going, play together a lot, and soon you will be just as good without the shameful ass kissing. I specifically went Mal'Ganis because I am tired of all the wannabes everywhere, I was tired of them in CB even towards the end, especially people on the forums or people who would PM asking dumb questions.
If you really want to stick with getting recruited, go to Illidan, stay guildless, and start training yourself to be a badass...

We're on stormreaver ... we thought it wouldn't suck as much in terms of massive lag and login queues ... hmmm. Anyway, our main guild is <Epoch> ... Purge was always intended to be a 50-55+ PvP raiding guild. We did away with the Legio name because of all the other Legio's out there and the fact it makes the tags too big.

and of course, we need to know ppl in game before inviting them into the guild, so the only way to join for now, is playing horde/arch and generally being cool and meshing w/ our members (of course you need to be a decent player, but thats not really hard in a MMO)

The problem with the sticky, and the current process, is that there is no way for members to introduce themselves to you.

May I suggest you create a public channel in game, where nurfed members could look for group members when needed, or offer tryouts whenever they were bored?

You know, for all the bashing about the recruitment process, I got in fine like how the sticky said. I just happened to play with them for a bit and got invited. Honestly people, just play normally, say hi to us if you see us around, and don't stress so much.
