Alliance rogue, what race?

I want to play on horde side but most of my friends going to play on alliance so i went on alliance but thing is im not sure on what race would be the best pick for the class if anyone got any tips on what race or some tips would be great.

Gnome or Night Elf. Gnome if you're going to PvP, escape artist rocks in PvP. Night Elf if you don't want to be a Gnome, they can shadowmeld while stealth cools down, and I read that shadowmeld enhances stealth.

hmm if shadowmeld make stealth better that would be awesome for a rogue i like gnomes and all but look kind of short. Right now i am going for Nighelf rogue for the ag. and dodge passive.
