Just been thinkin on this, since I've never had a high-level priest I cant judge the amount of damage this would actually do. Anyone to chip in for advice on the following build?

I'm not looking for the "omg uber" damage priest, I know they don't exist. The reason I posted this is I'm thinking of making a dwarf priest and with the "tank" gear, racials, and the holy/disc tree - I think he'd be a decent pvp healer that can survive a LOT better than most priests and still do a little non-shadow nuking.

And if I wanted damage, I'd make a warlock ;)

I'd make a Warrior.

Having a Paladin resist 100% of your mana is priceless. (i was casting curse of shadows until i was oom)

Other than Paladins, Priests should be doing the least amount of DPS in the game.

Focus on resists, AC, stamina, intellect, and +healing. I seriously wouldn't DPS as a Priest unless my entire group had was completely healed for a 5 second span or more. Happens once every other fight or so.

'Priest' and 'Damage' don't mix. Roll a mage instead.

as long as the target doesn't has a high shadow resist, a shadowmag...err priest can easily outdamage a mage (not counting aoe here)

Guys, I dont think it came across.....but the idea is to be a good healing priest that's not useless in other aspects.

Shadowpriests do nice damage, but aren't that good of healers.
Tri-specs kinda do it all, but nothing the best.

If I go this holy/disc, I'll have the tank armor priest idea (massive armor from inspiration and improved innerfire) and healing buffs....plus a little nukage so I'm not completely useless alone.

It's just another balance....

Just another thing I'm thinking of...along the tank priest idea.

With armor gear, improved innerfire and shadowform...you'd take a lot less damage I think then the holy/disc version (even though that 25% armor bonus is nice)....add in the buff to Vampiric Embrace and it might not be that bad.

Again, I'm not trying to do the "uber" damage priest...just a priest that can survive a lot better than most.

IIRC Inspiration works on base armour, not buffed. It's more for when your casting on a warrioir or a shaman, not so much on yourself.

It is almost like my last holy/disc build and I enyoyed it alot in pvp.
You are not the best dps but around 200dps when casting smite all the time and no resists on players with that.
Healing is no problem with the build even if 3 more in spiritual healing would be nice I guess.
I think the inspiration thingy is on base armor too. Kind of sucks for us :(

i dont like your build, i'll go that far to say its crap.
smite and every holy tree damage spell are weak spells and as a priest you'll never have time to cast them in pvp. and you dont think anybody would take to instances with that build, do you? *G*

full shadow specced priests are ok in pvp if you fight newbs and/or have luck. watch zaz, he's doing fine, but i dont like that kind of builds. in my opinion best spec for a priest is disc/holy. you wont see any big numbers in pvp, not even from healing (around 1800 with decent gear from flash heal) but you are a main factor if your team wins or loses. also disc/holy priests are great in wsg offense.

holy dd priests suck, you wont be sadisfied and you will never learn the power of a priest if you spec that way. some ppl tried (me too) just because they/we were curious, but it isnt fun, really :)
