I have a few questions to the warlocks in nurfed, are anyone who would know. Are the succubus and felhound usable in the 40's and 50's? Also, I looked at the talent builds of the warlocks and saw that no one went demonolagy.

It seems to me that the destruction seems to be useless. I'd rather have my pet hitting for more damage, and have a little extra hp and mp.

I played my warlock up to 40, I spent a lot of time exploring and trying different stuff out. I spent proably 90% of my time with big blue, no denying he is the pet of choice for most situations. Succubus was always sub-par, damage did not replace the CC the Voidwalker can do. Imp was only modertly decent with the huge HP boost and other buffs. I didn't get much testing done with Felhunter, but he definatly had the damage and HP (not to mention useful abilities) that would make him an alternative to the VW. The pets are pretty much balanced and good, though Succubus could use a little buff.

As for the destruction talent tree, I'm thinking of doing a Affliction/Destruction build. With Pyroclasm, Aftermath, and Ruin, Rain of Fire and Hellfire could be really great, especially for Battlegrounds and Raids.

I don't understand what good hellfire does, when it causes damage to the caster...

Muhaha, Hellfire isn't a point n' click mage spell, thats for sure, but it is easily the most powerful spell IMHO in the game.

For those that don't know, Hellfire is a PAoE attack that deals X damage to all targets as well as the warlock. It ticks every second for some serious pain.

Since most Warlocks go for Stamina gear, we have HP that is second to warriors. Throw in the Priest HW:S and the Voidwalker Sacrifice, and were a nuke ready to go off. Now in PvE combat, its suicide almost because the crazy DPS will grab agro like no tommorow. In PvP settings, where you'll have Priests and Druids backing ya up and snaring, you've got victims that are immoble and getting fried to a crisp. Adding Aftermath and Pyroclasm makes Hellfire (and Rain of Fire) have a chance to snare themselves, and Hellfire ticks every second, so the odds of procing are pretty darn good. Even if you die, you've done major damage, and your handy soulstone brings you back for round 2.

The only thing I would add to that is a Protection from Fire Potion. The warlocks best friend (if he is the one drinking it), absorbs 975-1625 fire dmg. Damn fine if you ask me. They can be a pain in the arse to make though.

What I wouldn't pay to watch 40 locks burst into SW, quaff those bad boys and all hellfire at once to nuke that little prince. What a movie that would make.
