Hehe i know this might not be the best of boards to ask this question but imo it is, you people are the ones fighting them every day, i would be grateful if i could get any comment on some of my questions, speacially from those of you lvl 60 and with alot of group pvp experience
Lets say if i was to get a melee type of charachter as alliance, would i go for a warrior or the new revamped pally?
Wich would you guys consider more usefull in group pvp, wich one would you hate fighting the most?
Any cons or benefits to either class?
Would it be stupid not to roll a paladin as my melee class if i got the option to do so? Or should i stick with the warrior for pvp?
Again i couldnt care less about which class holds agro the best, this charachter will be used in group pvp 80% of my time during lvling and 100% when i reach the cap and am satisfied with my gear. so im talking purly endgame:
Alliance warrior or alliance paladin for pvp?
Also if you could explain why you would go for either it would help alot too  thx in advanced rlly looking forward to some comments about this becuse i seariously cant sleep over this mather im aiming to only play one class in retail and its importent i make the right choice :?
it hurts being gimped lol

Right now...as is..Paladins own Warriors..So do most classes at this time. So uhm, go paladin. I just got done watching a video where a lvl 60 paladin and a lvl 60 warrior fought...Paladin went bare fisted didn't even use a weapon..and got the warrior down to 20hp left before dying. The other parts where the paladin did use a weapon..it was a complete joke the warrior was slaughtered.

im aware of the fact that pallys basicly own everything 1 on 1, i am aiming for group pvp  what i wanted to know was if there damage is good enough to add anything in a large scale pvp fight, becuse beeing the last one to die without achiving anything aint exactly a win win situation lol
ive seen and played an warrior of the olds and seen the destruction they deliver, im not sure of the new warriors though...
basicly 1 on 1 means nothing, its large scale pvping and general usefullness when it comes to pvping in large groups im interested in
on a offtopic mather, that warrior dueling that pally was the worst warrior ive seen so far :o i think he lost on purpose..

Well from what I've heard paladins dish out as much or close to as much dps as warriors...or more than I dunno for sure. I don't see why they wouldn't be better in group pvp than warriors. They can buff there party members...occasionally heal n rez the dead. What can a warrior do? As is now i'd say hands down i'd prefer a paladin over a warrior in my party. Sucks i'm a horde player ^^

Paladins, IMO, are by far the survivors of WOW. I know you said you don't care about surviving, but I still am dumbfounded by one of the pvp videos i have... Its maybe 5 of my guild members (lvls17-18) raiding Xroads, we are against 16s-18s, and all of our members die except our paladin, who holds off for another 40 seconds against 3 horde ( they werent noobs). Yes, paladins can do damage, and yes, they have awesome auras, but I'd say theyre more damage takers than damage dealers.

how do they function at lvl 60? i got one to 25 and its true i felt like a god speacially before the seal of command nerf, but ive heard lots of lvl 60 paladins complaining about how much they suck
any lvl 60's out there with experience fighting vs groups of alliance with pallys? or in a rare case might there be a 60 pally reading this ^^ Are they good enough for it? Is a warrior lvl 60 better then a paladin lvl 60 in group pvp asuming both got really high end gear?
choosing a class is so hard in this game

Well since this clan is going in the direction of horde, might be on the wrong boards if your lookin for input from a lvl 60 paladin but. As far as I know right now...Even at lvl 60 with both top gears, Paladin wins...and if he doesn't win...which seems unlikely...its a damn good fight. I guess its more what your into.

Depends what your looking for of course, but to get down to the meat of the subject, and what's really burning in every (alpha, beta, etc) person's mind is this:
How the hell does a lvl 60 warrior lose (Wielding dreadforge -checkitup at www.thottbot.com) to an unarmed Paladin?
Go ahead, check the forums in the pali section if you can still find them, they're gonna argue that they don't have this and that, but it breaks down as this: Warriors are the mega nerfed used-to-kill-everyone class.
Besides getting completely killed by a pali ( Who shouldn't even be better in the aspect of weapon damage via a character who's ALL melee)
1. Warriors can use NO abilities in the beginning of a fight, leaving them to have to run and attack ( Unless your lucky enough to pull off ONE charge )
2. Even if you have that rage generated, its hard to maintain it and constant deal enough damage to kill a character before your entangled, feared, ensnared, etc
3. Warriors pretty much don't have much of a counter to any fear/entangle/poly/etc. Sitting ducks without being able to charge.
So there you have it, a warrior is an unarmed Pali who can't heal, res, give aura's. =)

Its common knowledge that the paladin is much better than the warrior in every aspect. DONT go warrior unless you want to bet on your class becoming playable a couple of patches later.

I moune the loss of the old Warrior as many on these boards seem to. But instead of rolling a gimp for release, and considering that me and my friends have been playing alliance for all of closed beta, I will be rolling a Paladin as a "theoretically" viable warrior replacement. It is not so much a choice for alliance players to go with a paladin as it is almost a must at this point, I will miss the warrior just as much as everyone, but I might have discovered a possible paladin super tank.
I've been dicking around with thottbot for the past 3 days with builds and considerations for playstyle and team mates. I will be grouped with some of my college buddies including a Gnome mage (formerly CharlieBass on PvP Server) and a human Warlock (formerly Lysander on PvP Server, my room mate) which has lead me to my consider Blessing of Kings for them as the best option. 10% more Int for CharlieBass yields close to 1000 more mana with his current set-up, and Lysander, who is one of the top Stamina Warlocks, will bennefit greatly from 10% increased stamina (somthing to the tune of 600 life unbuffed, something more ridiculous with PWF and the Imp buff)
But that's just icing, the real meat and potatoes of my build is the fact that with consecrate (damages nearby enemies w/ holy) and seal of fury I will "theoretically" have a reasonable aggro generator. With the use of a shield, the blessing of sanctuary and self heal spams, i may be able to hold aggro on any number of near-by mobs. This is pure theory and has nothing resembling empirical testing to back it up, but with the damage at 60 and the help of Seal of Fury, It might just work.
Drawbacks: Clearly this is a mana hog, but Charliebass will provide *some* breathing room with Arcane Intellect, and my gear will hopefully compensate for the rest.
Here's the talent list, FYI this build has its roots in a viable solo/group purpose, so grabbing some of the offensive talents is intentional.
Retribution Total: 31
Benediction 5/5
Imp Seal of Crusader 5/5
Deflection 5/5
Vengence 5/5
Seal of Command 1/1
Precision 3/3
Consecration 1/1
Conviction 5/5
Blessing of Kings 1/1
Holy Total: 4
Spiritual Focus 4/5 (wish i could have all 5 :-/ )
Protection Total: 16
Imp Devotion Aura 5/5
Toughness 5/5
Blessing of Sanctuary 1/1
Imp Seal of Fury 5/5
It feels odd to post about an Alliance only build on a very much Horde oriented guild's forum, but nurfed has some of the most focused players I have ever come across, and I hold them in the upper echelon of respect because of that. Perhaps the drive to know thy foe in pvp will inspire some feedback, regardless of whether they ever plan to roll a paladin, which is more than most guild forums can provide. I always gave myself the proverbial pat-on-the-back when i got one of you guys in hillsbrad :)
