Mage support

What is the best set of for a support mage? I want to have control in groups. I was thinking mostly Arcane then Ice or should I go more ice then Arcane?

Is ice good for high end game content? Just a few questions :lol:

I see no reason to spec Frost for group PvE... mostly you're required to "kill stuff fast" which means AE spam and not blizzard.

See the Current Mage Builds sticky for a far more detailed analysis and a good Fire/Arcane PvE build.

Frost/Arcane _is_ workable for PvE and can do some miracles (CoC, Barrier, Nova, Blizzard, Cold Snap, CoC, Barrier, Nova, Blizzard) which can save a group from a wipe... but Fire just kills so much faster that it isn't even funny :-/
