View Full Version : Onyxia post-patch agro
Before patch we would all get high on acid and do this encounter naked, however after the patch keeping agro in one place during phase 3 has proven to be quite the headache.
Basically our biggest problem is keeping agro on the MT, we've found that FR gear actually makes it worse. She also sometimes randomly changes target to say a mage that hasn't done anything for 5 minutes, and gives them a good slapping; at the same time turning everyone in that durection into crisp Any suggestions on pausing, gear, totems or anything that can keep the agro on our MT?

Did I mention there's a problem since we DON'T have Fear Ward as horde? The MT in that video never moves because he is constantly warded, making the encounter easy business.

i think that might be a big problem? cause of priest talent for example but iam not really sure
but we recently started tanking her with two warriors
the second tank uses spells like heroic strike to get him high on the aggro list
works pretty good since he is usually the first to get the "lost" aggro

well yes and no feared people are at the buttom of the hate list while feared... but when they get unfeared again they're back on top, same goes for stuns if i remember correct

she got changed recently. when you tank too long she gets bored and attacks someone else (healer). just start to attack after 30s of tanking. works well in phase 3.

yepp i also heard of incidents where players get so bored of fighting against her that they start to attack their OWN raidmembers
ever tried to control that aggro? :roll:

try tanking her for 5mins with noone attacking and then try tanking her with everyone attacking after 30s. i noticed a large difference.
I belive this has something to do if a person does not get feared while the MT and everybody else around does, she will instantly flip around to get whoever "dodged" the fear.

I have tanked Onyxia twice since patch and I did not notice a single change. Didnt lose aggro once in stage 3 of both battles. In addition, a tank can easily manage several of the fears by himself. Using berserk rage and Will of Forsaken I usually only get feared once or twice during all of stage 3.

Here's a friendly tip, remove some shadow resistance gear and cancel your armor / shadow resistance buff

the teleporting thing is the big blue dragon dropping nice hunter stuff :p
but serious,not only ony changed since patch,lucifron got hooked up with mass fear,gahennas got ectremely overpowered shadow bolts,azuregos got armor reduction and hes dying like a lvl 10 mob ,sulfuron grows like a feeded snake as for ragnaros some say he got overpowered we finaly killed him last night and i got to say we needed less trys as before 2 months at garr exactly 6
But onyxia..i dont think anything changed ,i tanked her for a month than changed to dmg warri and saw nothing different
But whats stil pissing me off is BWL,moust of the guilds who reached something in bwl is due to bugusing never heared anybody passing the first room since the hotfixes and still cant figure out how to control a dragon to destroy eggs with a 5 sec cooldown skill and still survive the 70 random spawning orcs and dragonkins at the same time without dying

Not exclusively. I've been ported a few times , but half the time I have discovered I've simply been feared to the other side of the lair because fear is retardedly bugged.
