View Full Version : Ideas for additions to UI

I am currently using your UI and I love it. The only thing is that I miss 2 features from COSMOS.

1) tloc: This was a feature that showed you what seems to be an X,Y coordinate for where you were in the world under the mini-map. The reason this was useful to me was because my warrior is a miner and I would log the mining node locations and type of ore into a database and then I made an App to look up the ore locations and I would use tloc to navigate to those spots. I used to activate this in COSMOS by typing /tloc in the say prompt. Also, until they allow you to put text notes on a map this is useful for writing down places of interest.

2) Quest Level: Well this is just a nice thing to have I got used to seeing the quest level next to a quest. I solo a lot since the guild I am in is West Coast so as I make plans for a session it helps me to know which quests might be easier for me to solo than others. It also helps me know when a quest will go green/gray so I can do those first before I level.

Once again I like your UI a lot and I think these additions would make it even better.

I second the quest levels thing. However its so easy to add yourself you can just go to line 120 in QuestLogFrame.lua and change the line to

questLogTitle:SetText(" ["..level.."] "..questLogTitleText);

Oh and I'd also like to suggest a change to the clock addon to recognize when you get to level 60 and detect that you can't get to the next level.

I mentioned this in the other recent UI thread, but I think the only other addon the already-great nurfed UI needs is to display the counttimer on buffs right below the buff icons. It's really annoying having to hover your mouse over your icons just to get the tooltip to pop up and say how much time is left. Much nicer to have it displayed at all times.

A buff timer would be highest on my priority list. I can see this being very essential for PvP.

The buff and debuff timers are already in the UI ;).

Yap they are in, but the numbers on health, mana and exp bar arent always popped up anymore :(

@ brandx: i dont have a QuestLogFrame.lua with the newest nurfed interface...

the things i would like to be added in the UI are like Kardis said... location coordinates and levels of quests...

Only thing that keeps me from using it full time is the lack of the 2nd bar option ^___^

Buff timers already in? I downloaded the UI after the last patch and there are no timers for me, did you release a new version when I wasn't looking?

Yeah i put up a new version not too long after the patch with the updated features, hence why i need to put up a page about the UI so people know when new versions come out ;), which is going to be up in the near future.
