Roaming 5v5 PVP nights.. need advice please

I recently watched some of your 5man roaming PVP videos and was hoping Nurfed could offer some advice on the best way to organize designated PVP nights like this on my server.

The quality of these fights are just amazing and delicious :lol:

I play a Disc/holy priest with a spec similar to Vhell's. I was just flipping out watching his video.. group PVP like that is so much more fun for me then 1v1 or large zergs.

Im an officer in my guild, Blackdawn on Stormscale and have discussed how we could get some nights like this started.. most of the officers agree that you need to have the coperation of both a Horde guild and Alliance guild and have them meet up in a designated area to avoid interfernce.

Is this how Archimonde goes about their Roaming PVP nights?

Im hoping we dont even need to go to eah guilds forums to set this up.. id like to make a post on the Stormscale WOW forums.

Do you think this would work? Or would our designated night and area just be zerged with tons of randoms interfering?

I noticed in your videos that you have multiple guild 5man groups in the same area... it seems like Archimonde really has their PVP down tight. Id like to bring Stormscale up to speed and improve our PVP quality level.

Any advice you can offer on how to achieve this and what to look out for would be greatly appreciated.

well i definately didn't organize them but I did participate in almost all of them.

Vhell just made a post about it on the archimonde forums and set up a irc channel with a pw. Anyone interested would send him a pm asking for the info. The designated area would be posted in irc and the fun would commence.

Any guild that started to zerg would just get zerged back by the opposing faction. This rarely happened but it did happen a couple times. Some people always have to ruin the fun :(

Meh before vhell jumps in here and explains everything ill stick in a few words.

Make sure you make it private...as in do not advertise the location prior to the event itself. Also, pick a low level contested zone where only random lowbies can accidently ran into you and they're not much of an interference factor.

5v5 roaming nights were in Ashenvale and Stonetalon mountains...perfect locations for such things.

Make strict rules about no ganking and how to begin fights properly...by this I mean instruct guilds to fight only when on the road and the guilds that were just killed are free to drink up and buff up off the road without being jumped while not ready to fight.

One of the problems that I experienced during the ashenvale roaming 5 was bystanders. Bystanders did not interfere in a fight, however, a group that would fight my group would have their priest stand in a group of alliance bystanders and it would take us half the fight to realize where the heals were coming from. You might wanna do something about that.

Mostly, roaming 5 nights involve cooperation and good sportsmanship by its participants, if you get that down, the rest isn't really a problem imo. Good luck!

like the idea, the only problem here is, that there arent any pvp guilds on my server. i wont ever get why so many ppl play on pvp server if they think pvp is no fun,...

Well I just had a chance to read the replies... the site was down for quite awhile :( thanks for the info.. this will help with the next PVP night we plan..

I went ahead and planned our first 5v5 night on Stormscale a couple weeks ago and it was "almost" a success... I say that because although NO alliance showed we did have 3 Horde guilds roaming around and quite a few Alliance guilds annoyed later that they never showed.

I arranged it on our WOW stormscale forums and had 6 guilds commiting to showing up with 5man groups. On the planned night we were talking to them via AIM and all of them backed out... various excuses Blah blah blah :roll:

However we have probably the best PVP hunter on the whole server in our guild and he taunted the crap out of them... the next PVP night we plan they will show or forever be called Bluebies! :shock:

As for the advice on how to set one of these nights up.. I think AIM is definetly important or some other way to keep in contact with the opposite faction. As for the area to PVP in... we decided to go with Azshara although I wanted to use a lowbie contested area. Azshara was chosen since some felt we shouldnt be inviting a bunch of 60's in to mess up the lowbs lvling.... I disagreed but have to say Azshara will work quite well.. its only a few minutes away from CTF and the mobs are spread far enough apart to not interfere. The occasional random player is usually a farmer on my server and not likely to interfere.

Im curious if any more of these PVP nights are planned on archimonde and if you plan on posting more vids? Vhell's vid is insane.. would love to see another soon.
