There will certainly be a full list of the initial servers posted within minutes of the servers going live, either by Blizzard or by someone with an early copy of the game.

You misunderstood DrDeath.
Blizzard stated not all servers will be coming up at the same time, they may very well come up over a 24 hour period.
There will be no list of server names until all servers are up.

There will be a server up at midnight though, thats the lowest alphebetically.
Which would allow the initial starters to get on, post the name, and get the word out fast.
I personally would be game for this, as we talked in vent today that we wanted on the same server as Nurfed, LoD, and other organized guilds in order to fight them head on. Some good PvP battles should ensue.

Where are you getting information that a server, or any servers will be up at midnight on the 23rd? Link please.

You think they would be so mean as to have news about the store selling copies at midnight and then not have the servers up? Hahaha, that would suck for those people driving 2+hours to go buy their copy.

There was a post on the forums with a reply by caydiem.
On the www.worldofwarcraft.com site they mention the midnight store celebration where you can get the game.
World of Warcraft Midnight Store Signing - Indoflaven on 11/18/04
The Blizzard Crew lined up to sign boxes at last year's launch of Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne.
Come meet the developers of World of Warcraft at the Fry's Electronics store in Fountain Valley, CA on Tuesday, November 23. Starting on Tuesday morning at 12:00 AM PST, Fry's Electronics will open its doors to local gamers and give them the chance to be among the first to purchase a copy of the game and meet the developers in person.
The festivities will begin at 10:30 PM on Monday night, and the line to enter the store will be cut off at 1:00 AM, so be sure to get there early. We will be raffling away Blizzard recommended NVIDIA BFG GeForce 6800 video cards and backpacks, lift tickets to Bear Mountain ski resort, as well as a complete Alienware Area 51 computer. Local radio station, KROQ, will also be there to play music at the event, and food and beverages will be available.
If you'd like to attend, please be sure to visit:

It was about the New Z and Aussie players getting to play hours before north america, and I believe the reply was along the lines 'At this point it does appear as they will get to play on the servers apon buying the game'
What would be the point of buying the game, and not being able to play it?
I really dont like the fact that they arent releasing server names right away.
Thats why im willing to commit my guild to the lowest alphabetically named server at that time, and spread the word out what server that was. Seems the most organized and easily way to do it.

I know about the midnight sales of the game in -some- not many stores in bigger cities, but I have heard or read nothing about the servers coming up at midnight as well.
It's pretty crappy that people who manage to get a copy at midnight or who live in Australia where it's midnight the day before it's ever the 23rd here would get to play first on any of the retail servers.
I honestly don't think they'll bring them up until mid-day of the 23rd.

So are you going to make Kinnear reserve 7 of your names for you just to be sure?
My guess is that it's their intention to have the servers up at midnight here (EST or PST?), but they won't be up until about 8:00 am EST.

I swear I read somewhere (can't remember where though) that at least some servers would be online at 12:01. But that's prolly not helpful since I don't have a link :P

Yeah it was on the wow forums.
Something about how they wouldnt have all the servers up, and that they would start rolling the servers out over a time period.
Meaning like 8 servers could be up at midnight, and by midnight of the next day there are 30 out, that have been rolling out on a hourly basis.

Listed as
'The plan for most of the reputable PvP guild is to be on the first PvP server on the Central list. Double check with us on the day of release. If lag is bad there, we may switch over to Pac. More info on that to be found at Guild vs. Guild '
Looks like its more of a go.

What I think I'm going to do is go cry. DIE decided they want to tag along and play on our server it appears... god I despise those people... drama queens and twelve year olds.

Been a while since I posted here, the site looks great. This whole server thing is a mess right now, so who knows where everyone will end up. Was a blast fighting you all on CB, gl in retail guys.

Us Aussies don't get it untill the 24th. 9amish too, I don't believe there are any midnight releases here.
So we get it -later- than everyone else.
Anything else you might want to whinge about?

If the list of servers is correct and Archimonde is available in the first batch, I don't see any way we are going to play on that box. Between the sheer volume of guilds planning on either that server specifically or the first server alphabetically, the nut-hangers, and the retards who always pick the first item on every list they see ... it just can't be worth it. That much lag is just not fun.
We'll see come Tuesday.

Don't sweat it. I'm in Australia and WoW isn't released here till 9am on the 24th. That is 2:00pm PST. So yeah :(
