Based on the statements I'm currently seeing coming out of your camp, which I (and many others) deem to be the top end, most inteligent, most mature guild out there, this game isn't close to being ready.
Since I'm still happily playing Eve, I'll stay right there. I hope to see you guys in-game in a few months.
So Q, Nym, Tiv, Nyss, Dal, I'll see ya hopefully sooner than later.
Yer pal signing off.
PS- This does not mean you can stop inviting me to cookouts! =)

I agree the game isn't done. Still a hell of a lot of fun to play though. Maybe if I was poor I would have second thoughts, but as much as some of their stances have pissed me off, I'll run right out and buy it asap on Tuesday. It's going to be odd to have so much time on my hands until then.

Ah EVE-Online. I loved that game for many months, but I just got sick of the second rate programming. Maintaining a guild of 200+ people with many of the guild functions constantly broken finally did it for me.
The PvP was fun tho, so many different combinations.

Same for me =\. I just borrowed a friends steam account to play HL2 til monday night when I go to the Blizz Event. So I hope this will hold me off until then. I seriously will be very very bored, so I hope HL2 keeps me occupied.

Regarding EVE:
They actually have had 1 expansion already and are putting out a second ironically on the 23rd. Not a ton has changed, but enough to hold my intrest until WoW gets patched a few times and the rush is over.
I never race to the top in MMO's, so I have the luxury of waiting a while to get in.

Jumping into a brand new game from day one of it's release can be both fun/entertaining (because you get to be the first players to explore and discover new content and items), and frustrating at the same time.
I don't blame you for waiting if you aren't the type who enjoys hectic playing, but I wouldn't say WoW is so 'unfinished' that it isn't worth playing right away. This game, a year ago in beta, was still more complete and fun than many games (ie SWG) were at release. IMO, Blizz has done a pretty damn good job of getting it nearly finished. They've left out a lot they had hoped to include, such as the promised battlefields, the PvP reward system, and raid content that barely got touched on... but hey, these games take years to really polish, and they NEVER finish developing.
If you intend to wait until the game is 'finished' then you're never going to find the best time to play as it will constantly be under development. If you don't like testing and building the game from beta to release, then wait, but don't wait so long you miss the original fun of the game.

Not gonna wait til it's 'finished' per se, but in my experience, from as far back as UO, MMO's arent 'ready for play' until about a month or two after retail. Then they can patch a few items that slipped thru everything.
That, and I'm really dreading the incessant kidz coming from diablo. I've found that once a game has past the 'latest and greatest' phase, then the diehards stay and the kidz move on to the 'next big thing'. Case in point with EVE, boneheads (for the most part) gone and we are left with a solid core group of players. Even the pirates/griefers in EVE know what they are doing and do a good job of it, but such is the nature of beast for EVE and I'm all about it.
So, i'm looking forward to playing WoW, even preordered it, but the inevitable patch fixes coming directly after release, the rush of brainless monkeys moving in to clog up my synapses with useless banter, and the fact that I have very limited time to play (newborn) and no set group to play with (no friends playing that aren't already in Nurfed) have me thinking I can probably find better enjoyment out of EVE, where I don't actually have to be 'in-game' to skill up or make money.
I hope this long tirade hasn't bored you all to death. Thanks for listening.

Usually the crowd of diablo, like you said, are kids and probably won't pay the monthly fee. I have noticed with most mmos the age area of players is usually a bit older and the youngest players are usually 18 on average. I agree with all the points on mmos being ready to really play couple months after the release, but wouldnt base not playing now because of the possible kids playing it.

I come from the old school of, 'if it aint broke, dont fix it'. If I'm having a great time palying another game, why should I jump ship and play something i'm not sure i'll like? I really dont think the gamble is worth the risk right now.
like i said, its already preordered, so i'll be playing. Just not soon.
The real reason I posted here instead of just calling tha Nurfed crew is that I got a better shot of reaching them here, and I can reach em all at the same time! =)
