Ok so since the servers are going down today I am going to need something to keep me occupied for the duration of time between now and tuesday. A couple of the guys in my guild are fanatics about the warcraft story line "for god knows whatever reason!". So I was wondering if anyone could recommend any particular books to check out.

I got the free book called 'The Well of Eternity' that you get for pre-ordering WoW from Gamestop. It's the first in the trilogy of the 'War of Ancients' series that pretty much tells the entire backstory history up to the time of the Burning Legion Invasion... a must-read for anyone who wants to make sense of the quest storylines in WoW. Blizzard has hinted that they will require players to know some of the fiction to solve certain quest riddles and high end content, though didn't see much of that in beta. They may be holding that stuff back for final.

Like you, I'll be reading up on the story. Here's most of the books available on Amazon.com:

Dal, I'm very pleased to hear you want to educate yourself on the great lore and story behind Warcraft. I'll be reading too over the weekend!

PS: The first in the trilogy is easily read in a day, so I suggest getting all three for a whole weekend of reading.

Their actually not bad. The writing could be better, and some parts get annoying. But, their entertaining and let you know a lot about the quests, first book has a lot of focus on the "Emerald Dream" from Wailing Caverns. I recommend them.
