Just wanted to know if anyone on here, being that we're all going to central pvp servers are in the Chicago area? I have heard of several stores on the west coast having midnight releases but have yet to find one out here in Illinois. Seems as if though WoW, even with its popularity has not garnered the attention of the big retailers: Bestbuy, EBgames, Gamestop, Fry's. At least here in Chicago.

Anyone else looking for a midnight release to get started early? I've been told that Walmart stays open late and that might be worth checking out. How bout people in other states? You all have any luck with stores opening midnight to sell the game? Will the servers even be on?

By the way, only saw a general topic forum, so I'm sorry if i've overstepped some unspoken rules as to what to post. =)

Come meet the developers of World of Warcraft at the Fry's Electronics store in Fountain Valley, CA on Tuesday, November 23. Starting on Tuesday morning at 12:00 AM PST, Fry's Electronics will open its doors to local gamers and give them the chance to be among the first to purchase a copy of the game and meet the developers in person.
The festivities will begin at 10:30 PM on Monday night, and the line to enter the store will be cut off at 1:00 AM, so be sure to get there early. We will be raffling away Blizzard recommended NVIDIA BFE GeForce 6800 video cards and backpacks, lift tickets to Bear Mountain ski resort, as well as a complete Alienware Area 51 computer. Local radio station, KROQ, will also be there to play music at the event, and food and beverages will be available.

If you'd like to attend, please be sure to visit:

Damn. I wish I lived farther south. I could also work for Blizzard too if I did. Perhaps my girlfriend and I can move down there with the quickness. She does like the San Diego area since that's where she's from afterall.

Oh man I just read that on the front page. God forbid I was actually able to attend.

Dal walks up to the line "so which one of you is pardo... I wanna have a little chat" ;)

That'd be a good article.

"Man beat to near death over Video Game"

That is if your antipathy is that strong for Pardo, which I wouldn't doubt that it is.

Hahah. Nah I don't think Dal is the fighting type =). He'll bowl Pardo over with his notes and well thought out papers. A gentleman, AND a scholar.

That WOULD be a sight though.

That would be a much more impressive although less press worth sight. Is to have Dal make the developers speechless with his well thought and laid out insights in to their game. To bad they have the blinders on and the ear plugs in.

I live in Northwest Indiana but am constantly looking out for somewhere to pick the game up the night before. I've checked all the local stores with no luck but please post in this thread if you do find a place that will be selling it early!

Im a lover not a fighter. I'd kill to get a 1 on 1 with pardo so I can set that boy straight, or at the very least pick his brain to try to figure out what in the name of god he is trying to do to my class.

Yah luckily I live 45 minutes away from the frys their selling at, so I will definately be there. I gotta go pick up the 82 dollars I put down at gamestop, hopefully they won't bitch and complain when I try and get my money back from them.

Hey Ramok, I'm from Chicago as well... You say you're getting the game a day prior?? That's awesome. Is it because you know someone or is that how the store will be doing it. I sent you a private message with my email so that I can get info. I really appreciate any info you can provide on getting the game early. Thanks!

If you are close to any Wal-Mart supercenters I would check there at midnight tonight. I have a friend that works at the 24-hour Wal-Mart here in Dekalb (Go Huskies!) and he said they have had their boxes of WoW for a day already, but obviously they cannot sell them yet. I am definately going to be there at 11:59pm tonight hounding the poor bastard stuck working the graveyard shift in electronics.

HAHA! that's funny Kinmaul, i will do the same and go to the one in Antioch. I was told that there were two supercenters for Walmart close to Schaumburg (which is where i'm at) and Antioch is closer than Dekalb, though both are decent drives. Walmart was to be my last resort but it seems like it might be the safe bet.

Thanks and see you in game!
