Indalamar. New to the boards, but we have talked in game as our guilds in closed beta where rather close. wether you remember me or not ;). I must say, in all my time playing MMOs I have never met someone so dedicated to a cause such as yours. As a warrior I applaud you for trying to bring back the "old system" which I loved so much all through CB. My frustrations as a warrior are at leaste felt by others, and as a player and fellow class mate I respect you. Even through five years of EQ where my Shadowknight when from crap, to uber, to crap, to uber, to crap... back and forth, I never saw anyone go vocal to SOE. Not that they would listen, but still.
After reading your post on the nurfed front page, I must say everything that I have been trying to work out in the new aggro system, you worked out a tad faster. During the last patch I didn't even bother tanking, I was a sad excuse of a warrior compared to my previous strengths. Don't remember how many friends lists I was on for grouping. Which, no doubt, made me feel good I was doing my job correctly. As far as the "newest" changes to the warrior, I spent most of open beta today testing out the taunt system, and the hate system in defensive stance and I have to say it is an improvement, but only slightly. It seems that taunt sticks on a mob now, and if I am correct, everything you do to the mob during that period of about... 4 seconds, while Taunt is on the mob's debuff bar adds aggro to you. So, Defiance 5 + taunt may be a very good way to keep aggro controlled on the warrior. However, multiple pulls... still where a challenge.
But I digress really. I just want to comment on your post, well written and I agree with a lot of your points. I'm just sorry to see it is falling on deaf ears.
In closing, there has been talk of our guild Dominion (Heart of Orc on CB) running with you on Horde Central on release. If this goes through I look forward to it. Till then, enjoy that rogue ;) I'm going to tough it out, for the love of my role. You said it, I definetly have the body guard mentallity when it comes to MMOs. From a Tanking ShadowKnight in EQ, to a Warrior in WoW, I can't see myself playing anything without a taunt key.
