View Full Version : PvP Druid Gear
Got a bit too bored of my warrior and started leveling a druid - but I'm confused as to what gear to get end game.
Basically I plan to use all ferals + caster form when PvPing - depending on the foe. As I'm a more fighter-than-caster type, I want to boost my damage in ferals, but not hurt my mana pool at the same time. So I was thinking - If I drop 2-3 intellect pieces and get some crit/rogue ones, would it help my DPS enough, or would I loose too much mana? I could easily get 5% crit bonus by doing so, but, at the end, would it be inefficient?
I also wonder what weapon to use - saw a really nice 2hander mace with 30 strenght and 1% crit bonus, but I don't know what would be best for a feral druid.
PS - What's the agility/crit relation for druids ?

Honestly, a Druid is not mean't to primarly be a fighter. The few pieces you get to boost your melee DPS, which would preferbly be Str/Crit gear for bear form DPS will not weigh out over the Stamina/Intelect gear that a druid is balanced against.
A druid is primary caster, secondary melee. It is about endurance as a druid. And the Feral tree is in a poor state at the moment, I honestly don't think there is much promise in such a build at the moment. A Druid is a Druid, not a rogue/warrior, they emulate these roles in "part" but they can not focus on them to be effective in any dynamic PvP environment.
And, the cat form is honestly not a good choice either to focus on, it is primarly stealth DPS, to get the jump on someone or get away. Primary melee in combat is Bear, and very good at it versing melee classes with the insane AC capable with the right gear.
So I don't think it would be a good idea, the Druid as a class has been itemized this way. Best thing if you want to be more Feral is more of a crit talent hybrid while still getting NS, but I wouldn't imagine not having Inneverate, it makes a Druid the master of endurance. No one can compete.

While I would agree that Feral builds are currently significantly inferior to Restoration builds, the PvP equipment available to Druids suits Feral-build Druids much better: it has as much strength/agility as it does intellect/spirit. So Druids are stuck in an akward position: the spell/talent build that is best does not match the equipment that is available to them. Druids either have to compromise their talents and go Feral to match the PvP gear, or reject the PvP gear and stay Restoration. Blizzard has said that they implemented honor in order to study it in action and tweak it from there -- so hopefully Feral Druids will get better, or PvP gear for Restoration Druids will be included, or both. Because there really is no way to optimize your Druid at the moment.
I plan to go 30 or 31 in restoration, nothing will change that. The rest needs to be tweaked a bit though - 20 in feral could be one option; getting Swistshifting in Balance could be another, but it always will remain 30/31 in restoration.
Like I said, I was thinking of a way to boost my DPS in feral a bit, nothing more. I'm aware of the fact that I'd be more a caster than melee, so I will emphasize on caster gear.
So nobody knows what the relation agility to crit is for a druid ?

I recently assembled my personal wish list of Feral Gear without counting towards agi to much. Awfully though, it doesnt focus around Intellect at all so it might be off your plan. But maybe you can take one or two items from it, so here ya go:
Feral Gear:
Head:
Eye of Rend (Rend Blackhand)
+7 Stamina
+13 Strength
Passive: Improves your chance to get a critical strike by 2%.
143 AC
Shoulders:
Death's Clutch (Ras Frostwhisper)
+12 Intellect
+11 Spirit
+11 Strength
+12 Stamina
131 AC
Chest:
Tombstone Breastplate (Grandmaster Gandling)
+4 Strength
+10 Stamina
+6 Spirit
Improves your chance to get a critical strike by 2%.
174 AC
Pants:
Devilsaur Leggings (Crafted)
+12 Stamina
Passive: +46 Attack Power.
Passive: Improves your chance to get a critical strike by 1%.
148 AC
Hands:
Devilsaur Gauntlets (Crafted)
+9 Stamina
Passive: +28 Attack Power.
Passive: Improves your chance to get a critical strike by 1%.
103 AC
Wrists:
Bracers of the Eclipse (Prince Tortheldrin)
+10 Agility
+9 Stamina
Passive: +24 Attack Power.
Shoes:
Pads of the Dread Wolf (Halycon)
+14 Stamina
Passive: +40 Attack Power.
Belt:
Mugger's Belt (Captain Kromcrush)
+16 Stamina
Passive: Improves your chance to get a critical strike by 1%.
Passive: Daggers +5.
Endstats:
+89 Stamina
+28 Strength
+17 Spirit
+12 Intellect
+10 Agility
+7 % Critical Strike Chance
+138 Attack Power
Setbonus through Devilsaur Armor:
+2 % Chance to hit
Depending on preference you can either get an additional +2 % to crit and 5 more Str from the Rockpounder or an additional 29 Str and 12 Stamina from the Fist of Omokk.
I'll be gathering these items soon, as soon as the rogues from my guild are willing to pass for me. Oh and I got 300/300 Tribal LW, so that helps in getting these Devilsaur Items.
Weapons:
Weapons:
Fist of Omokk (Highlord Omokk)
+29 Strength
+12 Stamina
The Rockpounder (Archaedas)
+5 Strength
Passive: Improves your chance to get a critical strike by 2%.
Basically I plan on "testing" the feral tree with a 30/0/21 built, getting resto to nature's swiftness. With the pure crit gear I can get +14% crit in catform/ +24% crit for ravages. Seeing as this ignores rings/back/trinkets/necklaces you can easily get 20+ % to crit.
Also, when you plan on going deep into resto, there's absolutetly NO reason in the world to not getting Innervate!
