Is it possible for Mage to beat Shaman in duel?If yes, then how?

Thank you.

Use all you're timers like AP and instant cast, first poly then hope the shaman is slow on healing or doesnt put groundings down. Use wands on groundings.

Why am i telling you this?

Its not easy by any means.

Yeah, can tell you that. A mage will always have a hard time againsta shaman (Unless the shaman is 20 lvls lower or don't know how to play). Especially in a duel.

A couple of days ago i was in Southshore, and some smart guy got 80 guards spawned so everyone was wiped. After i ressed and ran away i had a mage in my back (luckily she was from a guild we were at war with). As mentioned i had around 75% hp and 30% mana left after a quick heal. Even with those odds the mage lost, and her lettle warlock pal got me at last.

What is strange is that no Grounding Totems were used as i had messed up my UI while changing resolution so i couldn't use it.

There are propably many more examples like this from other shamans proving that caster classes have a hard time against shamans.

As a Warlock, you can also sit down and wait till a shaman finishs your HP. Doing nukes n stuff would be a waste of soulshards, you cant beat a good shaman 1on1 with a warlock. But i bet some "not that good" shamans at lev 60 *proud*. With luck(2-3crits) you might able to win but it will cost you ur timer and some insta nukes and still it will be close meaning your HP will be close to zero at the end 8)

Shamans > everything, everybody knows it. Well not everybody - Blizzard not ..

shamans are tough for any class if the shaman knows how to play.

luckily

1.) i am playing horde
2.) most shamans i duelled have no clue how to play.

Use any dirty trick in the book and all your timers and you have a 50% chance to win.

Solo, I'd say no class is really in good shape of winning same level shamans constantly, with a druid being my closest bet.

Then again, real solo PvP only happens in duels it seems

And btw my last post was not meant to brag or anything like that, just to let you know what the odds are.

AS a shaman i would say a rogue that comes stealthed has a great chance of draining all your life before you can do very much.

Although i haven't met many rogues in PvP i don't really know what the best tactic is.

At least i use all my slowing totems, shocks etc. to keep them away from my beloved HP. If they use vanish, depending on their HP. If low run up tp where they was and toss down a Earthbind totem since it affects all immideatley unlike Magma totem. Or if it's quite high you should toss one then back up a bit so they hopefully walk into the trap.

I've heard rumors that Flamshock cancels vanish, but never got a oppertunity to test it, i will if my guild rogue logs on soon.

Keep a mana potion in store for rogues unles you really have to use a health potion bad.

And remember if they do fall in your trap you should turn around and run a bit so you can heal yourself in peace ;)

Any DoT cancels vanish. Flameshock has a dot effect to it, doesn't it?

rogues who get the jump and warriors seem to be tough fights for my shaman, also paladins w/ all their timers up are a pain in the ass, but then again i could just earthbind/GW and run from a pally if i get sick of the fight=P

hard to get away from crippling poision going off every 4 sec and hamstrings

Well a shadowpriest seems to have a fair chance for beating a shaman! it's essential to kill his totems, especially tremor and grounding.
