View Full Version : Console commands
Hi, i've seen that you guys lower your graffics during instances, how do u make the graffics so low?, I tried to lower resoulotion etc but never gets the same effects you do.
Is there any good console commands to lower the graffics and getting more fps ?
Have looked around on the forums but, haven't seen any post about this type.
Thx, for a great forum etc..

Just use the Video Options menu - I set mine to 1024x768 and crank everything down to minimum, and turn sound off (ctrl-S) - still get crappy framerates.

Just change it all in your interface options, turning off music will give you a pretty decent FPS boost, and ambient sounds, also changing the color depths from 24 to 16 or 8 will also yeild better FPS, all of these can be done via the video and sound options.

make sure your video refresh rate is synced at the same speed as your monitor and is near 120 or as close to it as it will go - you want these numbers to match.
to do this, you can use the same tool i use, called refreshforce, at http://www.pagehosting.co.uk/rf/
its pretty easy to use but don't cry to me if you screw something up and your screen goes blank.
blizzard defaults this to 60 hz which makes everything ass.
i also have vsync disabled, and instead rely on my matched refresh rates to sync everything which helps a little.
WARNING: just because refreshforce says it can force your monitor to do 120-160 hz, doesnt mean your monitor is capable of it. if you don't know what your monitor can handle, ignore my whole post.
that is all.

120 is pretty high... i use 85 Hz for everything... anything lower and it hurts my eyes =[
I use 100hz always have, since im old counter-strike freak. FPS is important. Well thx for the help.

Anything running more then 100hrtz makes your mouse go too fast, its so annoying.
I always use 100 myself, cos i too am a former cs freak :P
