Hello. This is my first build. EVER. I hope you guys can rate this, and fix my mistakes. I will be using a two-handed axe or two-handed mace. What do you think?

I always wondered is shaman with a reaper a good build?

In beta I played a shaman till 43 and the only class i'd dare try to melee would be casters. Rogues, warriors, and paladins with their dps and armor would own me. I would just end up using mostly elemental spells on them so I figured if most of my damage was coming from my elements I should buff those, and my healing, and that would be as effective against casters as well.

I'm jealous, like 3 shamans have reapers and i'm still stuck at arcanite bar #8 :(

Drop combat endurance, it's worthless. Drop IGW as well if you want to be specced for real PvP. It's only useful as a get away tool and shaman is the last class that needs that. Put the 3 pnts in Thundering strikes because melee crits are pretty especially with windfury.

Also ancestral healing has limited uses. The only classes you really need ac for are rogues / warriors and you probably won't heal much vs. them. I'd take totemic focus over it especially with improved fire nova. That thing really eats up mana. You don't drop many totems in pvp, but they're more useful in group situations. Anyways just a suggestion.

Restoration:

Dump Ancestral Healing and grab Totemic Focus. In the long run youll get more mileage from this. You'll be dropping a ton of Totems...more mana for more totems is a no brainer.

Combat Endurance is basically worthless and that 1 point will be more useful elsewhere.

These will give you the tools to be a decent b/u healer and able to be rather flexible at the same time. Remember Intellect is your friend...as is Stamina.

Enhancement:

Ancestral Knowledge/Shield Spec are both equal in utility...since youre going 2H it makes sense to go mana.

I disagree with the individual who advised you to dump IGW...probably one of your nicer tactical skills. 1 Sec 40% movement increase is very nice for mobility on the battlefield. IMO, it is irreplaceable.

I also reccomend dumping the Improved Lightning Shield. I know...its a good talent. But, IMO the points are more useful elsewhere. With the one point you pulled from AH and the 3 you dropped from ILS, you can now put these in Thundering strikes for a total of 4% chance to crit. However if you like the improved balls of lightning you wont cripple yourself by placing them here...it is about your most efficient damage dealer.

I ordinarily dont reccomend the point into 2H as Staffs are good without wasting a point. But, since that is your desired path it makes sense to use the point for versatility.

Elemental:

Looks good.

My $.02 but with inflation probably worth much less.

Thanks for the replies. I'll try working those out. I still think that ILS is better than Thundering Strike. Plus, 4% Crit vs. More LS Damage+%10 Regen...

That is a point going to 10% regen that only works while in combat. IMO, that is negligable gain for one point. That is all we were trying to say. The ILS is a matter of preference only. And Thundering Strikes is very nice for 2H...youre preferred build.

Its your character and you have to play him. GL to you.

It's not +10% regen, it's 10% regen of hp while in combat.

So at level 60 you'll get 2hp a tick while in combat as opposed to 0.

I can see how IGW might be useful in battlegrounds, but in it's current state it's not useful for group pvp. Like I said it's good for getting away and shaman don't really need that. It's nice to chase runners as well, but 1 second or 3 seconds you're going to catch up to them before they can mount.
