Life taping when affected by soul link would make my pet take 50% of the damage fron life tap right?

this would make lifetap mutch more usefull in combat and would work kinda like dark pact but it would take some damage from you, and some from your pet insted of mutch mana from your pet.

This seems like a god thing, in pvp your pet only help when using mana for its good abilitys and doing some damage, they almost never get targeted so HP is not that inportent.


Can you turn of soul link if you have a good amount of life and your pet is about to die from the damage?

Now with soulshards beeling able to be gatherd in pvp atleast in the future, shadowburn looks worth it, still, spending 11 talents that I wont have mutch use for to get to it still sounds kinda useless, so I skipped it in this build. (I dont like that sound when casting it eather) ;)

I plan to use fellhuter allot actualy, beeing able to see rogues is just wonderfull ofcourse, spel lock is totaly wonderfull, dispell is great and as a bonus he get healed the damage we share from soul link... wonderfull. Smile
I will miss succubus vs rogues thou. :<

Now the build:

Improved Corruption
Rank 5/5
Reduces the casting time of your Corruption spell by 2 sec.
[Verry mutch needed, a great DoT that becomes instant, cast on the run.
Also gives many nightfall procs]


Improved Drain Soul
Rank 2/2
Gives you a 100% chance to get a 100% increase to your Mana regeneration for 10 sec if the target dies while you drain its soul. In addition your Mana may continue to regenerate while casting at 50% of normal.
[When gaining shards in pvp, this will be a great way to keep your mana high, especialy since I dont have dark pact.]

Improved Life Tap
Rank 2/2
Increases the amount of Mana awarded by your Life Tap spell by 20%.
[Main way of gaining mana, since I wont have dark pact.]

Improved Drain Life
Rank 4/5
Increases the Health drained by your Drain Life spell by 8%.
[Great spell, main way to gain health and do damage at the
same time, I use it allot.]

Fel Concentration
Rank 5/5
Gives you a 70% chance to avoid interruption caused by damage while channeling the Drain Life, Drain Mana, or Drain Soul spell.
[If using Drain life this is verry inportent, especially when we can use it for drain soul in pvp now to]

Nightfall
Rank 2/2
Gives your Corruption and Drain Life spells a 3% chance to cause you to enter a Shadow Trance state after damaging the opponent. The Shadow Trance state reduces the casting time of your next Shadow Bolt spell by 100%. [Instant nuke? sure, its one of the best talents and it realy procs often atleast like once every fight.]

Improved Healthstone

Increases the amount of Health restored by your Healthstone by 20%.
[More hp from my healthstone? sure why not Smile]

Improved Imp
Rank 3/3
Increases the effect of your Imp's Firebolt, Fire Shield, and Blood Pact spells by 30%.
[Great for teams, I realy like the imp.]

Demonic Embrace
Rank 5/5
Increases your total Stamina by 15% but reduces your total Spirit by 5%.
[More hp? yeah its quite needed and will give you an edge in pvp. less spirit? stamina is way more inportenet then spirit imo.]

Improved Health Funnel
Rank 1/2
Increases the amount of Health transfered by your Health Funnel spell by 10%.
[Just needed another point in demon... :P]

Fel Intellect
Rank 5/5
Increases the maximum Mana of your Imp, Voidwalker, Succubus, and Felhunter by 15%.
[Spells are what makes our pets better, so this is always a good bonus, still I took it to get Unholy Power]

Fel Domination
Rank 1/1
Instant 15 min cooldown
Your next Imp, Voidwalker, Succubus, or Felhunter Summon spell has its casting time reduced by 5.5 sec and its Mana cost reduced by 50%.
[Great to use inside a battle where you actually lost your pet to AoE or someone whanted to take out that imp and the party still whant stamina bonus. Wink A warlock actualy have a hard time without a pet up most of the time.]

Fel Stamina

Increases the maximum Health of your Imp, Voidwalker, Succubus, and Felhunter by 15%.
[If I am going to share damage with my pet, this sure is a nice bonus to keep him alive. Smile]

Master Summoner
Rank 2/2
Reduces the casting time of your Imp, Voidwalker, Succubus, and Felhunter Summoning spells by 4 sec.
[Great talent, lost your pet? fear and sumon a new. Smile]


Demonic Sacrifice
Rank 1/1
When activated, sacrifices your summoned demon to grant you an effect that lasts 30 min. The effect is canceled if any Demon is summoned. Imp: Increases your Fire damage by 15%. Voidwalker: Increases your maximum Health by 15%. Succubus: Increases your Shadow damage by 15%. Felhunter: Increases your maximum Mana by 20%.
[Yor fellhunter is about to die? well sacrefice the bastard and get 20% more maximum mana, still, this is not that usefull, but it is okay and you need it for soul link.]

Unholy Power
Rank 5/5
Increases the damage done by your Voidwalker, Succubus, and Felhunter's melee attacks by 20%.
[I plan to use Fellhunter allot, and I will play orc, so my mele pets will do 25% more damage, its like having another verry good DoT on the target or something. Smile ]

Soul Link

Instant cast
When active, 50% of all damage taken by the caster is split with the caster's demon. Lasts 30 sec.
[This is ofcorse what every Demon warlock whant to have, geting it have been expensive but I got several good talents in the proces. Smile]

Some more info/questtions:

Soul link is dispellable thou, and the spell also takes mana from your pet. (Donno how mutch plz lemme know)

If I take magic damage and I use the fellhunter, with his high resist, will he still be taking damage on a spell that normaly would have been reistsed? od can he reists the linked damage?

bs. lifetap does not hurt u. it just using ur hp for the spell. Thats the differnse. Tho sou link will not help when using Lifetap or when you are healing your pet. But it will help when you pbae for example.

Thats sad, I still dont feel like taking my pets mana when the pet need mana for spell lock and dispell.

In all honesty when it comes to PvP you will need and make better use of the mana a LOT more and more often than your pet will. Your pet has what, 4 spells it can cast? You have three times that. Don't feel bad about using DP. :)

In 5v5 fights priests are alot more critical to mana than warlocks. I do seldom have any power problems in grp with priests/mages compared to them i am perma 100% power. Lifetap + Darc pact ftw.

in pvp raids you will almost always have a healer in the group so his mana = ur mana (life tap), you just need to watch his/her mana bar also. if you're in it for the mana, just go dp.

Also, a combo I've found works AWESOME is First Aid and Life Tap. Out of mana? Tap yourself down to a smidgen of health and pop the best bandage you can make. It'll usually be enough to heal 80-100% of the life you lost from Tap.
