ok! My Favorite Class is a Warlock class and i play WoW Since the very First closed beta... (i decided not to enter the US realms and stay tuned for the EU version to come into life instead )
I ve tried 3 warlocks, sticked both with Alliance and horde (well i am a horde Fan but i consideredWTF lemme give it a try as a Gnome 'Lock too when the racial changes applied to Beta Servers), wasted milions of hours testing, dueling etc and made thousands and thousands of talent builts trying to figure out a way for my warlock to keep up in Every possible situation in all kinds of environments trying to keep a balance between Vital eficiency / good Dmg / and the tools for successful PvP+FvF situations
but before analizing my talent build i would like to tell you that imo there's a reason why we have so many spells, skills, and pets; it's all about picking the right thing for the right situation.
so here's my talent built:
Destruction Mastery
Improved Shadow Bolt Rank 5
Bane Rank 5
Devastation Rank 5
Shadowburn Rank 1
Intensity Rank 2
Destructive Reach Rank 2
Ruin Rank 1
Destruction Total: 21
Affliction Mastery
Improved Corruption Rank 5
Improved Drain Life Rank 5
Improved Curse of Agony Rank 3
Fel Concentration Rank 5
Amplify Curse Rank 1
Grim Reach Rank 2
Nightfall Rank 2
Siphon Life Rank 1
Curse of Exhaustion Rank 1
Shadow Mastery Rank 5
Affliction Total: 30
Main Goals were: To reach full shadow mastery and Ruin the Best way possible
pros: massive, deadly, shadowbolts (crit 1.8k+), one of the best crit chances a warlock can get, good mana ificiency, able to slow your FoE with CoE for 70% of his normal movement speed (which is a must for me because i love using the combo corruption/amplify curse/CoE/Fear) considering that u have a good chance to proc a nightfall every time corruption/drain life hits (here is where Grim Reach+fel concentration combo comes to use) meaning u have at LEAST 1 nightfall before your victim dies... when nightfall procs then you get an instant SB with a high chance to score a crit hit then improved SB comes to action which basically makes corruption even better and boost your Drain/siphon life by 20%... if its not enough you get an instant cast shadow burn with about 550 shadow dmg :P and i forgot INTENSITY !!! well...
This is one of the Best warlock Toys... Rain of fire+hell fire +intensity in combination with a VW to sacrifice or a priest to shield+renew behind you is one of the best ways to get yourself (when solo) or your party members out of bad situations... and i mean that: using it u can mass dmg everything around u to about half their HP(always depending on the mobs u get to fight) get the aggro off of wounded party Tanks and get them about 5 secs to heal/get organised ... yeah yeah i know this is so risky (not for the warlock using it) but for whole party but... when using it the right way u have a really good chance (about 70% imo ) to make it work .. personally it helped me more often than kill me but i dont care if i get killed nevertheless ... at least most of the time used it (with a priest to shield/renew or a VW to Sacrifice) 90% my party survived the fight and ress-ed me ....
And keep in mind i am a smart 'Lock in game but a really smart person in real life too ... i never cried for nurfs or buffs for any in game class... Love the game, i prevailed 90% of my Duels/gangbangs Using my 'Lock i have every tool i need + my personal study on them to work things out... in bad situations mostly... Does the class need Issues? Yes it does... but i seriously dont give a fuck... Take pets out too if u want .... i can still get the way to prevail cause of my devotion to my char and only.
