Hello, I'm Parasite and I am a Nufed'aholic.
I have been lurking this forum for ages now, and I was a tad tired of lurking in the shadows, so I'll try to be a bit more active after this day.

After skimming through the official blizzard forums, it is such a joy to read through the serious and usually well written posts on this forum
It is really enjoying.

Anyhow, enough of this and onto the real reason behind this post.

I'm planning a warrior for EU release, and have trying a few builds in the EU beta.
I have read a lot of the builds that have been mentioned on this forum and I was wondering if i had missed something.

You have the cookie-cutter build with 31 arms 20 fury. That is all the way to MS in arms, and down to enrage in fury.

Then you have the fury build with 30-31 in fury (usually down to flurry)
And the rest in arms.

I have read a few posts mentioning the "stunner".
A tad more obscure build that has a few points in protection.
It has a few variations but usually goes down to concussion blow in protection tree, and down to mace specialization. Usually dual wield.

If I remember it right Indal reverted back to the ms build after trying out a fury troll.

And if my memory serves me right Sintor mentioned that he was trying out a fury build as well.

Then my question is, are there any other builds that sound reasonable?
Have i missed something critical?
Since Nurfed has a lot experienced warriors i thought it was reasonable to ask you if you had any experiences to share.

I do plan on trying out a few variations on builds as well when I reach 60, but i'll have to wait for retail release.

Thank you.
(and since I am a Norwegian, pardon my grammar)

I 'd love to try fury/protecion tree with 30 in fury and 21 in protection tree as tauren warrior.

Something like this:

Arms Talents (0 points)

Fury Talents (30 points)

Cruelty - 5/5 points
Improved Demoralizing Shout - 5/5 points
Piercing Howl - 1/1 point
Improved Battle Shout - 4/5 points
Improved Execute - 2/2 points
Enrage - 5/5 points
Improved Slam - 5/5 points
Improved Intercept - 2/2 points
Death Wish - 1/1 point

Protection Talents (21 points)

Shield Specialization - 5/5 points
Improved Bloodrage - 2/2 points
Iron Will - 5/5 points
Improved Revenge - 3/3 points
Improved Shield Block - 1/3 point
Last Stand - 1/1 point
Improved Sunder Armor - 3/3 points
Concussion Blow - 1/1 point

I'm sure its ultimate "one on one, toe to toe" warrior build, but I'm not (was) high enough to try it in all beauty.

You have 7 second stun with concussion blow and war stomp and 1 second cast for slam. Slam works with war stomp (unlike normal attack, boo) so its 7 "free" hits.
Only problem with this build is rage. Only way to make it viable is rage potion drinking.
Also if you miss concussion blow you are pretty much screwed.
And not having Tactical Mastery hurts too.

And not having Tactical Mastery means this build fails in PvP.

Fixed it for you.

Well, not having Tactical Mastery is speaking for its self. =)

My personal problem with the fury build is you have nothing to spend your rage on. You gain flurry, you gain enrage, you gain bloodthirst, and what can you spend your rage on? Demo shout, sunder armor, hamstring, maybe WW I suppose, but in PvP, all you really can do is just swing and that's boring. The reason I love the MS build (31 arms/20 fury) so much is because when I get a bunch of rage I can USE IT in PvP instead of staring at all of my cool innates going off. I don't know how many times I've enraged, swung, MS'd, WW'd, and executed someone, and that's why I love my current build. If you go for the critical axe spec, slap on some +crit gear, it's not unusual for your crit rate to go up to about 30% or so while wielding an axe. Warriors rely on randomly generated numbers alot, so you want to swing things in your favor as much as possible. Deathwish is really nice, but I still wouldn't give up my crit axe spec with MS, I just like it too much.

As for the conc blow build, I tried it. When conc blow is up and you use it, sure you'll get a few extra swings on your opponet, but again there's nothing to spend your rage on besides hamstring, sunder armor, demo shout, etc. The concussion blow cooldown is too long for my liking also, whereas MS is only six seconds. You'll have lower DPS in PvP than an MS warrior simply because MS is just that damn good (especially when enrage goes off). The improved revenge would be really nice, but the problem is you need to be in defensive stance and don't know about most other warriors, but that's the stance I use the least in PvP. Might throw up d-stance for a disarm, but that's about it. One might argue Last Stand is another nice part of that build, but guess what? Once Last Stand drops, and you don't have the HP it gave you, you're dead.

That's my 2 cents.

Hm, so you have tried the concussion build?
...so ms IS actually so much better?

scary....

Anyhow, ill still play around when i hit 60....I just can't believe that 31 arms\20 fury is the only viable build.

Can only hope they will give prot tree some love =)

hm....
btw. For aggro\instances purposes..is it viable to spec a bit into the prot tree to get the 15% increased aggro in defence stance?

seems like a nice tradeoff. mayby even get the imp. sunder armor.
lets say 31 arms\ 20 prot
It seems that gold isn't that important when you hit 60...so a few respecs can't hurt.

i played warrior during the final euro beta, with a arms 31 fury 20 build.
I was at lvl 42 when we heard the beta was shutting down in a couple of days so we stopped lvled and only did instances for fun. I never had any problem holding agro in there.
I charged in, hit bzerk stance, whirlwinded em, if i didnt hit any of em i did so as soon as possible and just held em on me using different skills.
I will never put anything into protection, ever.
