Warrior professions?

Hi,

I will level a warrior in Euro Retail (mainly for PvP Guild) & I've a question for experienced players. I'm now undecided, must I go for Blacksmith/Mining or Engineering/Mining?

Better than answer the question, can anyone explain why? I leveled Blacksmith till 165 or so & leveled Engineering till 115 or so. But engineering at this level seems crap to me. Is better at high levels? Is better goblin or gnome?

Personally i would go alch/herb for PvP.
