can a warrior do as much damage as a rogue?
Play the game and find out. In general, though, warriors are suppose to have more hit points and armor, and in return deal less damage. Rogues, on the other hand have less hit points and more, but deal more melee damage. Hope this clarifies it.

that is currently not the case though... warriors have more hp and armor... and deal more damage :P
In a Warrior vs Rogue situation, if they both same lvl Warrior's usually take the win.

Right, so why aren't warriors chosen over rogues for instances?
A warrior win the duel, yss, but a warrior does not outdamage a rogue like that.

It depends on the rogue's talent build, what type of fight it is, how the rogue is played, etc.
If a rogue is in a group with a good warrior that keeps aggro, and they can sit behind a mob and spam backstab they're dps can be insane.
If you're comparing a SS rogue to a warrior a warrior can deal equal if not greater damage.
The bulk of a rogue's damage is meant to be dealt from behind (ambush, backstab, etc.) Of course, they can put out some serious numbers from the front (just look at Thaloc.)
Basically Rogues and Warriors have different strengths and weaknesses, warriors are pretty straight-forward, rogues are much more complex in how they're played. With combo points and finishing moves rogues can put out some serious damage, it's all about how they're played.
