it boils down to this:

5% chance to reduce crits + 10% chance to stun 2 secs on hit (melee and hunter)
VS.
5% physical dmg reduce + 10% chance to freeze for 5 secs (melee)

i'd spec something like this => http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=ki0VcRbdGhzbZVZVVMco0xo for using molten armor.

my mainconcern is running around with 1200 armor and losing the free icelance crits on rogues and warriors (though most of the time melees focusing you have bof anyway).

i'd go something like
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=RiZVMhZVVGcofxRVot

for 5v5 and use molten armor. Haven't been doing much/any 5v5 though.
the -crit chance is basically a ton off free resilience, and then the stun > the freeze imo b/c of BoF and they can still beat on you when you're slowed etc. while moving away with frostbite. Also molten armor won't be breaking sheep anymore in 2.1.

If frostbite and nova/freeze stay on same DR for 2.1 (I hope not) i'd remove the points from frostbite and put them into elemental precision.

[edit] If you're going deeper into arcane, I'd go with frost armor and frostbite. You're missing winter's chill in that spec which is pretty huge for utility. The ability to stack the debuff to eat cleanses/dispels is pretty useful.

pls use molten armor. I hope it ignites too so I get free 100dmg enrage. thanks.

in terms of defense the MA is definately superior to IA, beeing effective against all classes but warlock, compared to melee classes only. As for the offensive value, the stun would proc a second wind on the pursuing warrior, wouldn't it? Not to mention frostbite proccing off of IA incrementing the DR timer on Frost Nova for example, would kinda mess up your pace.

In the end, it boils down to your personal preference and what would wield the greater value in your overall gameplay, as in 5v5 the mage, much like the rogue, doesn't have a clear role to fill and can get away with alternative speccs more easily than the warrior. Best example would be the 0/10/51 or 0/0/61 mage from Clan Hex (though he switched his specc to something else now, i believe).

P.S.: sag Dareja nen gruß von Kjaska. Und dass er mehr auf auf Ming ihm seinem Blog posten soll, die diskutieren grade wieder über resto shamen vs. roq :>

So would frostbite, so in a comparing the two that point is moot, one stops damage completely, the other just roots, I'd personally prefer MA + impact (and i wouldn't be spec'd into ignite to prevent the dot breaking cc; molten armor should just be made unable to crit though tbh.).

i, as a warrior, hate hate hate molten armor, i find it way more annoying than that frost crap.

well, it proccs second wind, but still ... it stuns alot.

Warrior enrage is up a ton anyway, whether or not molten armor crits.
