Connecting to WoW in the UK

Quick question for ya'll. For this semester I'm in the UK, but back in the states I had a wow account. Now if I wanted to play in the UK would I not be able to connect to the US servers because of my IP? Just wanted to know before I went to the trouble of trying to DL or get a copy mailed to me (i thought i could go without wow for 4 months, but its a heroine like addiction). Cheers.

I'm from holland and I connect to the US servers all the time. :)
I use the EU client and just change the realmlist to us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com

you will have no problem playing on the american servers from UK, in fact you'll most likely have a better ping than you would on the euro servers.

Stay away from their beer the worst two that come to mind is bishop and lager so drink Danish beer instead carlsberg is pretty common in the brits!

Ahh I'll have to give that a try, one of my flatmates has the Euro version. Where do you change that address?

Open the realmlist.wtf file in your WoW folder.

You'll see:

set realmlist eu.logon.worldofwarcraft.com

or

set realmlist us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com

Change it to where you want to connect.

I get 30-80 ms on euro servers, never got much below 150-200 on US :P

Any other Euros having trouble connecting now? Guess they disabled the EU client completely because I can no longer connect to Archimonde now that beta has ended, cry.

Uh, the EU servers are patched, US aren't yet.

Guessing (hoping) when US servers come up they will be patched with new version and I should be able to connect. Or I'll be be waiting 4 days 'til EU release. :(
