View Full Version : Raid lockouts? Huh?

Apologies if this has already been covered elsewhere, but my forum browsing skills have never been that up to par. :)

How does the 'raid lockout' for Onyxia / Molten Core work, exactly? Are you unable to zone back into the instance without an exact raid composed of the same players as the original raid? Does this last for five days for MC, seven days for Onyxia, vice-versa, seven for both, five for both?

I've heard a lot of second-hand information about this and have my doubts, so I felt compelled to go to the source of all that's good and pious in WoW to, hopefully, put my concerns to rest. :)

Thanks for reading.

Firstly, grats on, generally, being uber as always, Nurfed. I was in closed beta and saw many of your accomplishments, I'm glad you guys are doing so well. My own guild, for what it matters, is now able to do MC content so I decided to revisit that URL now. Brainiacs at Bliztard Ent. decided to delete it or i-dunno-what-the-hell.

We were approaching Lucifron's area, but were wearing down our armor. We decided to port out to UC to repair and then head back in through BRD. We also picked up two or three new folks along the way who weren't there in time for the first run. As usual, the server crashed twice while we were heading back, which set us back even longer.

Finally, we all cleared back through a newly resetted BRD and then as we're zoning in to MC... we all get "You are not in this instance's group" errors, and then get ported to Mauradon. What. the. Fuck?

So, basically, my question is: Is there any trick for not getting this apparent bullshit lockout bug? Do people need to stay in the instance at all time? Can we not add new people to the raid once we zone-in? What about when we're done for the night but want to come back tomorrow or the next day? Do people camp in the instance? Does the original raid/raid leader need to remain intact and inside the instance?

Sorry for all the questions. It just seems so... god damn stupid, to not correct this sooner than they have. I'm aware the patch will fix it, but I'm still curious of any workarounds. I'd rather not wait 'till Blizzard deigns to patch us to get a MC fix.

Sorry if you've seen this post already -- I posted a similar thread on Exiled's site just to garner a (possibly?) different response from the Alliance folks there. Thanks again!
