Hey I was just wondering if anyone had some hard numbers on the benefits of spirit to a priest. Im sure I've seen some from Tiv on here before but I couldn't find the post. When I played priest I believe I tried to keep my bonuses from items around 60% spi/30% int/10% stam. Any thoughts on this? Also if anyone has some proff of the benefit to spirit could you post or link that info? (I don't play priest anymore, just trying to convince my priest friend of the benefit of spirit as he thinks int is the way to go.

I keep spirit and int equal myself, Sometimes letting the ratio slip from 60/40 int/spirit
When you are out of mana spirit plays its vital role in slowly climbing your mana when your out. I would never have less then 40 spirit from my mana total. Its really saved my tank more then not....double edged portion is, if i had more mana would i have run out? Answer is probably yes, cause you always run out..

Indeed, spirit is very essential to shaman as well. Every multiple pull in instances I drop totems which consumes nearly 1K or more of my max MP. Thats about 1/4 of my pool and spirit really helps to alleviate that strain on my efficiency.

I agree... do not let your spirit stat drop in favor of a more mage-like high int build because that means you've got a lot of mana to start out with, but not much staying power in longer battles, which happen at higher levels. I can't tell you how many times I saved our group and our tank by squeezing out that last minute greater heal by regenning just enough mana before he died to cast it... very close. I also use Inner Focus now, so I always have one last heal available for free =)
Spirit IS important, even with the somewhat severe changes they made to it at the end of beta. It was probably a little too powerful back then.

The beauty of not having your inventory lootable when you die...you can carry whatever you want on you and have macros to switch different stat gear is where its at.

That would be good if you could actually change gear in combat
Yeah it is only useful when you get those quick couple secs of being out of combat. You can switch to SPR gear to end fights and what not. Very situational.
