A rogue's usefulness in raids also extends to the trap finding/lockpicking/pickpocketing aspect, not to mention they can stealth around and scout. Granted, they are 1 on 1 damage dealers, but they excel tremendously at it. Sunder Armor and Expose Armor stack, and with faint the rogue keeps the enemies back toward him, allowing backstab and the slew of abilities when stealthed, these add enormous dps, couple that with a strong poison on each hand (such as wounding poison for not allowing the enemy to heal effectively, mind numbing for slowing their casting, deadly for 5 stacks of high-end DoT, or crippling to stop them from running, instant poison is good for burst damage but group usefulness is limited) and you've got a pretty strong ally.

In PvP rogue abilities speak for themselves, but theres one cool little trick I would like to share: Distract works on the opposing faction, so when they are running away from you through a distract immediately behind them and it will spin them around and send em running into you =)

Just my 2 cents

I am pretty sure u can't distract once they are in combat....so if they are running away from you its normally becuz you have just hurt them lots meaning they are in combat so distract won't work..

Correct me if i'm wrong ^^

think the use-ability of distract is to stop Mounted nmy's if u're not in combat...like " you are stealthed waiting for alliance , if a dude on mount runs towards you not seeing you just use distract to stop em , and attack em.....its also usefull if you see a raid group ...pick 1 of the last dudes and distract em , normally they use Follow of Auto-run , distract breaks that , very usefull imo for let em stop if u want to attack them , not for in-combat
