Any ideas on hotspots for grinding for gold with as little downtime as possible? People tell me blackrock orcs but it seems hard for a shammy to take on 2-3 at a time sometimes, even with a nice dagger/shield.

I'm currently at 300 and need another 600, any ideas?

Yeti's in winterspring, they have a chance to drop Hurricane (epic bow, best non raid/instance dps IIRC), some very nice blue items...yada yada. Shit all armor, only thing they do is freeze you...LS can make up the dps while you are frozen.

...or you can just drop a grounding totem every time. It makes you immune to the freeze.

I here Blackrock stronghold in the Burning Steppes is a popular place to grind.

Except the matriarch/patriarch spew out a cone of cold, which destroys your grounding. Its impracticle...and a waste of mana.

Grounding totem costs... what, 80 mana? It's near impossible to "waste" mana on it. On those yetis I usually drop one right before battle starts. They often try to freeze BEFORE cone of cold -- but even if they do cone first, by dropping the totem early I often am able to drop a second after cooldown before freeze occurs. And really, even if this doesnt work out perfectly every time (I'd say I have a 40-50 percent success rate), so little mana is expended that it's hard to argue against the tactic. Definitely saves time overall.
