Or should one go +crit as i've seen others have suggested?
A quick search on Thott and look around shows that its not a big a deal for a guild to equip 1 warrior with like +50defense at least. Would that make him uber tank_001 or since the mobs are level 500 not matter at all?
Im planning on playing on PvP server so if +defensive is kinda useless i'll go with Sintor's suggestion (if i decide to play warrior)
Thanks
Here's my take on +def. It is utterly useless for pvp, so if that's all your worried about don't bother reading the rest, and go +crit like you suggested.
That said, I carry 2 suits, 1 for pvp and 1 pve. In pve, +def lowers their chance to get a crit on you, and in Molten Core a crit is another 800 dmg on top of the base 800. And each defense adds .4 chance to dodge/parry. With minimal effort, I have about 375 defense. (I could have 400, but Warmaster's Legs > Eternal Guardian's, imho). That is a fairly significant increase in dodge/parry and decrease chance to be crit.
And each defense adds .4 chance to dodge/parry
Is that 0.04 % or 0.40 % :?:

0.04%
10 def = 0.4%

I look at defense like this.
336 defense means i'm defending like a lvl 67 =)
So according to game mechanics, that should mean a level 60 mob should have a hard time owning me, just like we as lvl 60's would have a hard time owning a level 67?
Of course mobs have alot more hp than us, so I think +defense is good for tanking PVE, but if your pvping you should probably do the Crit warrior stuff.
I've dueled many crit warriors though, and I always win. The ones with crit gear and uber uber uber gear that I dont have yet, I usually tie with. 3 for 3 or 4 for 4 out of duels.
Oh, and btw chained weapon > any enchant :)
The uber uber warriors would probably own me if i didnt have that little edge on them, the little life i save from disarming them that is :D
