View Full Version : Legality of Keyspamming Macro?

Since early in 2005 I've arranged my WoW setup so that holding down keys causes quick repeated signals, allowing me to spam moves by holding the key down instead of clicking repeatedly. I recently read a thread in the main UI forums however that interpreted this as being in violation of the TOS and cause for banning.
Anyone else do anything like this, or know if it's actually illegal?

I'm not sure how they'd know that you're doing this, unless it's like a 3rd party program or something. Other than that it's just like all the macros a G15 can do.

if I move back and forth really fast it boots me from the server, might do the same for constant key spam ;/

if you're using it in AV to circumvent the afk system (by putting a rock on your keyboard or something) and then the stars and moon aligned where someone reported you and a GM came and saw this, then yes they would ban you.

I use a Nostromo n52, so the way it works is through the driver software just like the G15. The reason I wondered in the first place was posters who said that G15 macros were illegal.

Guildmate on mine got a warning for using his G15 macrofunction.
Although I admit it was an antiafkmacro. :o
Any chance we can get you to post this macro :-D I wouldn't mind it spamming my damn sinister strike cause I know my keyboard is really actually loud....

Pretty simple with the G15 Keyboard Profiler thingy.
Just choose a G-key, click it, assign macro -> create macro, name macro however you like, check the record delay box, start recording, press forward, then backward, delete the delay between arrow up forward and arrow down backward, set the 1st delay to 200 (just type in 200, should read 0.200s afterwards) and the 2nd to 320, add a delay of 60000 infront of all that shizzle, press okay, click the G-key again, choose repeatoptions or w/e it's called and choose the toggle on/off thing, and you have your own antiafk macro.
P.S.: OMG HAX
Just had to say that. :o
