Sorry if this has been posted many times, but here goes.

I've played a warrior since the second phase of the beta, and Im currently playing an Alliance war. I think I have finally just played out the class and looking to reroll on a PvP server. I really enjoy being on the front lines and being able to take a hit or two with out to much worry.

In my off time during the beta I played around with a shaman alt but only really managed to get it to around 30ish. I always played my shaman aggressively adding some nice support dps, but never allowed myself to drain my entire pool of mana incase the current fight went south. Would this be looked down apon in groups? Just kinda want to get a feeling for how the class performs. What I dont want to happen is for me to get around 40ish and have groups 100% of the time tell me to sit back drop my totems and wait to heal. Because well, that just isnt how I would like to play.

All that to get to this, , how shaman performed in off tanking instance mobs from about 40 on, and more generally is it more of a relaxed paladin in the support sense.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Shaman functions as secondary healers and support in the form of totems. Nobody really wants a shaman to nuke away all his mana and then not be able to heal once the priest is drained.

I realize that, and I even stated that I wouldnt use 100% of my mana pool. Also, I realize that shamans are secondary healers, just wanted to know if shamans are welcomed to play with a more aggresive playstyle. Or just sit back.
