I've been thinking since I'm gonna jump over to EU retail from US retail when it comes live I've decided to not play a warrior again.

I've been choosing between priest, shaman and a rogue.

Now a rogue would mean really nice soloing skills in both pve and pvp but lacking and for priest really good in groups.

But the shaman seems to both be able to solo well and is needed in good groups in pve instances.

But what about in group pvp both 5man groups and larger raids, does the shaman still have a place? since in pvp people are moving alot, that negates the use for totems a bit, and for the healing, a druid can do that equally well but with more mana and root etc.

So am I completely wrong here or does the usefullness of the shaman end when its time to pvp?

From 1-40, shaman are a force to be reckoned with. As your progress, however, your effectiveness starts declining. That doesnt however make shaman any less useful in groups for pve. PvP, they play a pretty decent role as a secondary nuker and healer as well as a decent melee fighter.

good enough role to be as given in a group as they are in pve?

In pvp, I bring more than most classes I know, at the same time. I can't dps like a rogue or a warrior on a lucky crit roll. Nor can I nuke like a mage or heal like a priest/druid....but godamn I can do it all almost at once. Only concern is mana, and positioning. I am also the groups anti-kiter, bringing in strays and making sure people do not escape us.
