Hi guys!
Here's the deal:
My guild is low on tanks and high on rogues so someone has got to trade damage for... uh whatever it is warriors do, and I'm the one to switch leather for plate so I could need some feedback. Mostly for endgame PvP.
What is the warriors place in group PvP? Is the threat the warrior poses even big enough for mages to waste mana on?
in most group PvPs i've been involved in it has looked like this: warrior tanking warrior, priest healing warrior, mage killing of whatever they can except for the warriors who never really pose any threat to anything but the warrior/pala/ he is up against, and rogue killing off the cloth wearers. So the real question is: what to do with the warrior? how should i build/play him to make him work in PvP and not just tank another warrior?
Also should i make him /shield/whatever or twohand weap and if so what?

Please guys i need some help here...
Also what is most efficient for power grinding?

Sincerely
/Captain

If you know what you're doing, Warriors can be quite formidable. I honestly don't believe that Warriors are as crappy as most people say they are, but rather that it's just harder to get it right. Warriors are traditionally supposed to be the easiest class to play, and because they're really not anymore it gets people riled up.

Don't ask me for build advice though, I don't know a damn thing about actually playing them ^_^

Invalidating everything you said above.

A warrior, is only as good as the priest backing him up. Simple as that.

Not really. I know several people who are Warriors and know what they're doing, and they get done what needs to get done. Go ahead and try disagreeing with any of what I said above. You won't get very far.

A warrior, is only as good as the priest backing him up. Simple as that. Not really. You probably just have experience only with poor players, or are one yourself. I'll also point out that according to the members page, 7 of Nurfed's members play Warriors. For the guild it ties the stats with Rogues and is less than only Priests, of which there are 8.

And since you've opened the anti-social box, you should really try making constructive posts with actual points instead of simply criticizing things based solely on your opinion.

As good as the healer backing him up. With the Warrior's armor and easier to get HP gear, he can be healed just fine by a pally/shaman/druid.

IMO, the Warrior's main roles in pvp are to apply powerful strategic debuffs, fear, and do localized burst damage.

The main debuffs are Hamstring and Mortal Strike. Hamstring can only be removed by Paladins and lasts for 15 seconds, making it a pain for the enemy to move around. Mortal Strike makes the difference between someone dying or getting chain healed. If you have good dps backing you, putting in a well-timed MS will make a target much easier to kill, not to mention putting in a good chunk of burst damage.

The secondary debuffs are Demoralize and Piercing Howl. Both are great if you have spare rage and can position it properly. Specced up Demoralize is 200 attack power, which is a good chunk of dps that isn't getting put into you or your healer.

Intimidating Shout is the ultimate fear. It can not be dispelled by dispelling classes and has unlimited targets. I find it very powerful in large fights.

Besides the great utility, a crit axe warrior will have very high burst dps. Mortal Strike will crit for 1100+ on cloth targets, and is quite reliable with around 25% crit chance.

A Warrior is almost essential in any situation where assist targets are likely to be hit by significant healing as they are the only class with such a powerful healing debuff.

A warrior's DPS isn't very impressive against a single target, but as you get more and more people beatin' on you, it goes through the roof.

Since he's a 60th level warrior, I'd listen to what Andrei has to say. The only comment I got on his advise is that Mortal Strike doesn't seem to do that much damage anymore, ever since it was nerfed to a straight +160 damage. Of course, warriors (and priests) are next in line for a patch, so we may have some surprises in store for us.

thanks alot for the info... however one questin is still buzzing in my mind... What about PVE (pre 60) well pre 40-50 it's strictly grinding and after that tanking will come in to the picture... when grinding will a 2h-weap be the best choice? Tanking it's 1h/shield yea? And in PvP what weap to go? beeing able to tank or damage dealing what is most importante in group PvP?

Sincerely
